When looking at HTML on knowledge base posts, we can see there are <Hn> tags on several elements that shouldn't be here for SEO.   "Was it helpful?" yes/no question is <h6> "Related posts" is <h3> The entire list of related posts is <h6> These elements should be <p> or <span> but not <Hn>. It can have an bad impact on SEO performances of each post.   Therefore it would be interesting to change the tags directly in the Hubspot template (for everyone), or to be able to edit them for each knowledge base. ...read more

Currently Hubspot offers two different options on canonical tagging for blogs (info here). Neither of those options do exactly what they should. I see some customers have resorted to customized templates, but this seems like something that the platform could easily do better for all of us.   Suggested changes: 1) Add a canonical to /blog on /blog/page/1. It is the same content as /blog.  Alternatively eliminate the /blog/page/1 alltogether with a 501 redirect. 2) Add self-referencing canonicals on the deeper pages (/blog/page/2, etc.) This will protect against duplicates from querystrings or varied URLs. 3) Add an option to automatically no-index blog tags. I've just launched my HubSpot CMS website and I'm in love with the SEO Recommendations tool! It's comparable to other paid SEO/Accessibility tools I've used in the past besides a bit of functionality I'm hoping can be fixed over time.    1. One critical fix I'd like to see is the ability to schedule a regular scan of the website (primarily for broken links).   2. I'd love to see a short summary of key fixes required in the email report/notification each time the automated scan is complete.    3. Ideally, users could customise the priority areas they want to tackle and identify team members they want notified of the scan and fixes required.    These things will really help my small team stay on top of important issues for our website.    I've seen some other great ideas suggested (which I've voted on) for allowing you to assign users to a problem, and also track progress over time. At the optimize tab at website or landing pages you can run a scan to see which other pages refer to that page. This SEO scan to find internal links is helpful but can take a few hours to complete. I will do other things in the meanwhile and forget that I wanted to see this information. It would be helpful to get a notification by mail or in the notification area to see if a scan for internal links has been completed.
