Background:   We run a SaaS platform for video training (https://uqualio.com). The user creates a free trial with 14 days free period and then the card is charged. When a user makes changes to the subscription we change the line items in the subscription. Remove the existing line item and add a new one. The effect must work from now so we set proration.    This works well.   When we change the subscription later, then proration is not set and the customer is not charged with the new subscription for the reminder of the current subscription period.    This is MAJOR risk of loosing MRR in the month where a subcription is upgraded.    Requirement The subscription's proration setting is stored with the subscription. When I open an existing subscription with proration then this is set no matter what I do on edit subscription.   Having worked with other SaaS subscription system like Stripe, Paddle, ... proration was set on the subscription and not reset on each edit.    How to test Create a new subscription that is charged now Add a line item Set proration on Save the subscription Verify that the payment is made Edit the subscription Remove the line item Add a new line item with higher value Save the subscription Verify that the payment is the difference between the new subscription amount less the original subscription amount (potentially with a small difference if time has passed between step 4 and 9).   ... Hey HubSpot team,   I’ve been setting up our payments and billing flow for Canada using HubSpot, Stripe, and QuickBooks Online—and I’ve hit a couple of big roadblocks that I think many Canadian users are also facing.   Here’s the ideal setup I was hoping to build: Create invoices or subscriptions directly in HubSpot Use Stripe to collect payments Have everything sync into QuickBooks with proper line-level QST + GST breakdowns Automatically map products/services to the right revenue accounts in QBO But here’s where things fall apart:   HubSpot doesn’t support Canadian dual-tax setups (like GST + QST) or the decimal precision needed for Quebec’s rates. The Stripe Payment Processing app in HubSpot doesn’t sync cleanly into QuickBooks—especially when it comes to tax details and mapping products to the right revenue accounts. Right now, I’m stuck manually managing everything in Stripe and QBO, which kind of defeats the purpose of using HubSpot to streamline things. It also makes it harder to stay on top of revenue reporting and tax compliance.   Would love to see HubSpot support: Dual-tax support for GST + QST (with full decimal precision) Better syncing from HubSpot → Stripe → QBO (especially for tax + revenue mapping) This would be a game-changer for Canadian teams trying to use HubSpot for payments and accounting. We signed up for HubSpot Payments, and in many ways it has been great.  However, for certain situations it falls a bit short, and as a result we're likely going to move to Stripe, but take advantage of the HubSpot/Stripe integration so we can still tie customer payments to their contact/company records in HubSpot.   However, in order to make this switch, we're going to have to re-collect payment info for all of our subscription customers which will be painful to say the least.   Since HubSpot Payments uses Stripe "under the hood" it seems like it should be possible to create a better migration path to allow a small company like ours that "outgrows" HubSpot Payments to migrate to Stripe Direct with HubSpot integration.  Since Stripe must have all the customer payment info somewhere, it seems like it should at least in theory be possible to migrate that payment info to the new Stripe account.   Right now it's feeling very much like HubSpot sort of tricked us into using their solution directly when really it seems everyone would be better off in the long term using Stripe Direct, and once you go down one path, switching is extremely painful.   Don't be Apple.  Don't create traps for your customers!  We LOVE HubSpot but this is going to be a nightmare to fix without a better way to migrate away from HubSpot Payments. ... Currently, HubSpot subscription notification system emails are not able to be customized. We can't even review what the template looks like for these emails, like we can with other system notification emails. It would be great if we had the ability to customize these emails.  ... Afficher plus

For HubSpot Payment links, the links populate with https://app.hubspot.com/payments/Payment_Source_ID ?referrer=PAYMENT_LINK. I would like to change after referrer= to the specific location (ie. WEBSITE_LANDING_PAGE) for each location. I tried doing that and then set up a workflow to record the Payment Referrer Source in the Payment Record.  I then created a report to show the Payment Source. If you look at the graph below, you'll see 317 labeled as Other. The Unknown payment count was from before I set up the workflow. Changing the report to the Source URL (a prebuilt HubSpot property), you can see that the Source URLs do not include the Referrer part of the URL. I would like the referrer part to be added to the Source URL so that the workflow I set up can be used to track where people arrive to the payment source from. This feels like a significant hole in HubSpot's ability to track on-platform payments that would be easy to fix. ... Afficher plus

Send an email to the payments account owner (or a specified email/list of users) when the payments account is under review.   We had a situation where our payments account was under review and our payouts were paused due to an unusual increase in our transaction volume. There was a notification on our payments page, but we do not navigate to that page as a matter of habit and did not realize there was an issue and payouts were paused until the end of the month when we were reconciling our books.    Having an automatic email sent out by the risk team when the account is under review would be helpful to notify us and be able to keep an eye on it in case there are any issue that arise from the review.  ... We are trying to change all out stuff over to be less manual by creating subscriptions. There should be some way that if a invoice is paid that you can create a subscription that goes of the invoice dates and donsn't send a new invoice when it comes to manual payments. ... Afficher plus

We are experiencing a couple of limitations with the subscriptions regarding invoicing and commerce analytics. When a subscription is created with a 'manual' collection process, there should be ability to prorate the subscription and send an invoice for when people are paying with check. There should be the ability to track in a subscription analytics the growth metrics that track how much new money came in this year from new subscriptions, then what the subscription change looks like with exsisting customers to show. If a subscription goes to updaid and the invoice associated gets marked  paid after, it should switch the subscription status to 'active' There needs to be an easier way to track the lifetime of customers.
