I primarily want this for writing support articles but it should probably be available in many places. Who Support Manager Goal Provide premium support and write tons of articles without all the cognitive load currently involved. Added Value Reduced cognitive load means I write more in less time. Not only does jumping through hotkey-hoops cause me to work slower, but I need frequent breaks because the thought of messing with formatting is enough to make me swear off writing any more articles for the next 10 or 20 minutes. Examples of Others Doing This Across these apps, the main markdown features one would use are there. Meaning I don't need to remember special rules for each one. Google docs Asana Slack Obsidian markdown editor with full markdown YouTube Not actual markdown, but extra markdown-esque formatting. No one complains about it there. Supporting Resources https://www.markdownguide.org/basic-syntax/ From the Heart Optimally, I would like a full markdown feature so that I can write my articles in some other markdown software and copy it over, but even just using # for Heading 1, ## for Heading 2 would make life easier. It always feels cumbersome to press ctrl, alt, 3 or 4.. or was it alt, shift, 3 or 4? I use a lot of shortcuts for a lot of software. I also frequently write many guides and make use of callouts, headings, ordered and unordered lists, and whatever I can to make the guide easier to follow. Despite using them heavily, I still need to fumble around with the keyboard shortcuts, being careful not to mix them up with all of the other software I use. Basic functionality like markdown headings can be implemented without bothering non-markdown users, but for more compatibility with md files, I would be satisfied with having to start every article by adding a markdown element where I can add all my article's content as long as it takes up the same width of the page as regular text would. In other words, it shouldn't be a worse way to do articles, but hey! it's markdown! Thanks for reading.
