Right now if you go to a company or contact page and click an attachment, it will open up a preview of the file, and then if you click the "Download" button, it automatically saves the file to your computer's downloads folder.   This is inconvenient because it doesn't allow you to pick which folder to save the file to, so now you have to go into your file explorer and manually move the file to where it belongs.   Instead, the folder selection dialogue should open up, and allow you to pick where to save the file. ...read more

Idea: If an image file is replaced in the File Manager, the new version of the image should immediately update across all assets, such as marketing emails, where that image is used.   Scenario: In the drag-and-drop email editor, when the source image file in the file manager is replaced, the image in the email remains cached and continues to display the first version of the image, unless the image dimensions are changed.   As the email creator, it is important to accurately preview the email by reflecting the current state of all images. Here is an issue description from the tech support: I did some testing on the back end and found that with the attachments section of the records, these files are stored in a hidden folder in your File Manager that aren't accessible through the File Manager itself. These files would only be viewable and available on the records in HubSpot. Taking that into account, there's no native way to move them into the file manager and into those folders. The only workaround would be manually uploading them into the folders. While HubDB has a video and image field option, it doesn't integrate with media bridge allowing media selection from applications such as Vidyard. Provide a Media Bridge column type to select media objects such as video and audio files from integrated applications. ...read more

I have permission sets created and want some of my users not to see the files menu. Currently they have a restricted permission set that only allows them to create a meeting link and see their contact records. But even with everything else switched off they can see the files menu and whilst they cannot upload or delete the files, they can download them. This is bad news for us as we use forms to capture new associates CV's and they are put in files by HubSpot forms. How can we turn off this view please? ...read more

I have a team that primarily used mobile in addition to desktop. This team is usually in the field uploading images within notes to attach to a deal.    Right now, when a user goes into attach a file to a deal by selecting 'upload new' they are not given an option to put the file within a folder.    The next option is to find file to associate with deal. In this process, they would have to leave the deal and go to the file manager to find a deal folder. This creates extra work and confusion for the 50+ people using HubSpot.   Please create the ability to upload files to folders from Notes >> Attachments OR Better Yet, the ability to upload files/attachments to deals.  ...read more

Goal: Add attachments over the API and have the same options to control access rights to them as for other attachments added manually in HubSpot.   Background: Attachment files added manually in HubSpot are created with access "HIDDEN_PRIVATE" which makes them unavailable to all user who has access to HubSpot file tool and allows to set access rights using Object Access permissions.   Problem: According to the documentation - "All files uploaded through the API will be visible in the files dashboard and the files picker. Hidden files cannot be created. However, private files and non-indexable files can still be created." which is a risk cause such attachments will be exposed to anyone with access to HubSpot Marketing file tool. It is possible to customize access to such files by customizing folder's access in the files tool but it doesn't have all the opportunities as object access customization has so it's impossible to have equal access rights for all object's attachment.   Idea: Allow creating hidden file using API so that all attachments (created manually and over the API) are stored equally and the same access rights could be set. ...read more

I would like to be able to add a favicon to my files, just as I can for landing pages. By default, the files would use the favicon uploaded to my brand kit, but it would also be nice to have the option to replace it for individual files if necessary.   Currently, when I link to a file download from an email and the file opens in a new tab, the HubSpot favicon is displayed.   ...read more

Files in Hubspot do not have SEO (and user) freindly URLs. Whilst you can change the domain to your own it still adds additional Hubspot text. It would be great if we can create our own URL name for teh file like wew can in page settings in CMS. This would mean we rank better for SEO and they are easy to indentify. There is a manual woraround of redirects but this is not sutainable and hard to manage.  ...read more
