Right now, the fact that there are no file-specific analytics and files can't be added as campaign assets in Hubspot creates a huge gap for content marketers in the platform. There's no way to gauge the effect that content had on the campaign or attribute a specific file to revenue, etc. Sure, as a workaround you could track form submissions, or put a link or CTA to a file in an email and track clicks, but those metrics aren't intended for content insight or attribution - they're for conversion rates and email performance. Plus, you can't include forms as campaign assets either*, so the only way to get any kind of content insight via the Campaigns Tool is to use the email workaround mentioned above, and as mentioned, those metrics aren't intended for the content insight (number of views, number of downloads, view dates, download dates, who's viewed, etc.). [*EDIT: Functionality to associate forms with campaigns was added on 05/02/2022] We desperately need the ability to view file metrics and include files as campaign assets because without the ability to track the performance of ALL of content in a campaign (external landing pages, social posts, PR, Hubspot files, etc. - tickets to related ideas below) - we'll never have the accurate data that's necessary for data-driven marketing decisions.
