WhatsApp integration: ability to customize business profile in HubSpot.
The ability to customize WhatsApp information. The WhatsApp <> HubSpot integration does not allow us to use the Whats App business app. So we cannot set the items below. Partly it can be done through META but the opening hours, auto reply, and about text for example NOT. There is no way to adjust this now. Please add this functionality to the integration!
To update profile picture: Users can change this setting in the WhatsApp business Manager which they would access by logging into Meta business manager > Business settings > WhatsApp accounts > Find their WhatsApp business account > Settings tab > WhatsApp Manager > Select the phone number to view Profile > Upload the image they want to use.
Re- "The WhatsApp <> HubSpot integration does not allow us to use the Whats App business app." Businesses must use the WhatsApp Business API/Cluod API to do any automation and integration on WhatsApp, not WhatsApp apps. This is a requirement by Meta. Businesses that use apps that don't run on the APIs to do automation/integration on WhatsApp risk having their numbers banned or facing legal issues against them. WhatsApp bans over two million accounts per month for bulk or automated behavior using the unauthorized way (non-API). HubSpot wants to be compliant with Meta's terms of service so it runs the WhatsApp-HubSpot integration on the API. That's why businesses can't use WhatsApp apps to integrate the app with HubSpot.
You're right. Auto-replies are not supported with HubSpot's WhatsApp integration. @HanzWil I understand it's frustrating but it doesn't seem like HubSpot is focusing on building on WhatsApp automation yet. Maybe their target audience for WhatsApp is smaller businesses that don't need that much automation (?) not sure 🤔
That's why they're supporting app partners in the marketplace, so that they fill the gaps HubSpot isn't addressing.
Many businesses are already using HubSpot with WhatsApp through the 3rd party apps and solving their problems. It's worth looking into them.
