I have some issues with validation rules for products. They don't apply for line items. In my case I want to send the line items to a ERP-system for invoicing and I want to restrict my sales reps to use more than X amount of characters on a single line property since the PDF invoice only can display X characters.
What do you guys think? Wouldn't it be great to have the product porperty validation rulse apply on line items as well?
It's must have tool to build guard rails so errors don't trickle down the sales process, requiring more admin time to fix if e.g. invoices have been posted when it could have been eliminated Upstream in the process via Validation Rules.
Me i added fields with last invoicing date and first invoicing date. i would like to limit the value to dates in the future. I can do it in the parameters of the product, but i doesn't work in the line items. Please put this functionnality in your to-do's 🙂
