Using personalization tokens in URL's / Links in sales emails
I want to be able to hyperlink some text with a token.
I want to store the URL for a user to sign up / create their account as a property, and then in a template say "Click here to sign up" (and hyperlink that CTA).
It would be great to be able to ctrl-k and add tokens directly into hyperlinks, but even just adding some basic HTML or some other simple markup within the template builder would do, anyone can figure out <a href> tag.
Would really love to implement this! Right now the workaround isn't tracking our conversion, which makes it difficult to continually develop more effective email strategies.
Hello, If all you're trying to do is personalize the actual URL and have it be a trackable link I was able to get this working by using the {{Object.APIpropertyname}} in the link itself. I confirmed tracking sends, opens and tracking worked. See the screen shot. I was able to send these from within the contact record, from within Gmail and from within a Sequence and it registered sends, opens, clicks for all scenarios.
We use landing pages that are personalized and unique to each company (thus, every company has a unique URL) in many of our cold outreach Sequences to target accounts. Since this isn't a feature that's currently available, we have to go through and manually add these hyperlinks before triggering sequences, which takes forever.
Considering the fact that Sequences are meant to automate outreach, this should be a built-in feature. The need to manually add links to each and every contact's sequence before triggering it almost entirely defeats the purpose of automation.
HubSpot is amazing, however, everything seems to be a cash grab to update to the enterprise level! I wish they would focus on basic features like this! Basically, they want us to all pay for HTML and HubL file access to enable this feature.
I was able to achieve using a deal specific URL that can be used as a hyperlink within email templates. I have the starter subscription (na access to HUBL or HTML). Essentially, I created a rich text property that has a hyperlink within it and use that as a personalization token. I learned to accomplish this from another user's Loom video here: Using personalization tokens in URL's / Links in sales emails (loom.com)
This is a big pain to not be able to personalize or create custom html in sales emails.
I am creating using a marketing email and will trigger from a workflow but it is a work around that creates extra steps for the sales process and ultimately requires a process that is clunky.
we need personalization of sales emails. I feel like everytime I want to do something simple the answer is to upgrade to unlock that one simple item. Or it is just not available.
I'd like to be able to access User tokens in sales templates as well. The goal is to set a meeting link value in a custom user property, and then be able to reference that based on contact owner via a single sales template. That way I can set the value once per owner, and use a single template and sequence to send from.
A different approach would be to allow tagging HubSpot meeting links with a unique value, and then having the template reference that tag to pull the link for each owner, similar to how the default link setting works now.
Right now to do this involves creating a custom contact property and a series of cascading workflows to keep the link values synced with the owner value. Or to clone the templates once per rep and give each their own sequence with their link-specific templates, which isn't long-term sustainable or a great use of time to setup.
