User with same email address as former colleague

Hi,

 

We are trying to create an account for a colleague who has the same email address as someone who previously had an account.

 

The original account has been deactivated and deleted and I have sent her an invite, but every time she tries to log in it says a user already exists. She has tried to reset the password, but never receives the link.

 

Can anyone help as we're tearing our hair out a bit?
