I'm Ian, the Product Manager for Hubspot's Forms tool.
Thank you all for taking the time to submit, upvote, and comment on this idea. We hear you loud and clear, and we agree that this functionality is important. We are currently evaluating if this idea is feasible and, if so, how our team will implement it.
Any news about this feature request will be relayed on this thread, so stay tuned!
Support for deal properties in forms is definitely something we want to look into. But for now, we are not actively looking into building this due to other priorities. We will review this again later this year.
We really need this! I don't understand how forms are only seen as an external tool. Especially in sales automation, such forms are perfect for allowing colleagues with few HS touchpoints to quickly feed data into the system.
Hey all. I'm unsure if this will ever be coming based on how long this has been taking and how little attention it's gotten from the HubSpot team.
There is a workaround if you have Marketing Pro, which basically is using a workflow and copying contact properties submitted to create a deal and then copying those contact properties to deal properties and then clearing those contact properties. Also are several workarounds for using things like being able to select a "HubSpot User" on a form and mapping that to the deal owner.
If this is something enough of you are interested in, I can share it in a detailed walk-through. But I don't want to do that if everyone already knows this and they're just tired, like I am, of making new workaround workflows for every new client that needs deals created externally!
Hi, can see this is being reviewed, fingers crossed it gets implemented. I know it's not a massive chore to copy the properties over from a contact/company level, but this would be super useful if we could just fill in deal properties from a form.
Lets just take a step back here and acknowledge generally that Hubspot has not considered one of the most fundamental yet also automatable parts of sales when trying to achieve scalability: information gathering for quote generation.
There are a few posts here that ask about this issue in a general way. The way suggested here is good, but the bigger concern is that Hubspot doesn't seem to have an awarenesss generally of this need.
Hubspot should be able to answer the question of "How can you help me to automate or optimize requirements gathering / info gathering for quote generation?". This is a pretty standard part of many sales flows, but I've asked this, directly, to sales staff, and there's literally no answer. None.
Im flabbergasted.
So yes, upvote on this, but also we need to help Hubspot see this massive, shockingly obvious hole in its offering, beyond just suggesting different ways we personally want to see it implemented
We use a form to capture deal-specific shipping information. Right now we have to have this data go to the company or contact rather than the specific deal. A solution too this would be amazing.
We need this functionality urgently. The customer experience is only getting compromised with redundant form fills followed by merges later and leads to loss of data sanctity.
When creating a form, you can select Contact property, Ticket property, Company Property, and custom property on the left side. Why is it that only Deal property cannot be used? Is there a way to enable it? Because when a customer submits an inquiry form, it would be more suitable to integrate it directly with the Deal Pipeline , then the sales rep get the info to follow up etc ....
I have just found out the Jotform enables you to include deals in forms via their Hubspot integration - it works well associates the deal with the contact - and the form designer is much nicer than the Hubspot one! Forms can be standalone, embedded of iframed into websites, emails, etc... Hope this helps.
When using a form in Quotes, out end goal is to store the data either in Quotes or atleast in Deal Properties of the associated deal with the quote, so that we can refer to it. A Contact/Company could have multiple deals associated with it which makes the process very complex according to the current setup. If we are able to use the deal properties, then the problem is resolved. Please keep this in priority.
