I'm Ian, the Product Manager for Hubspot's Forms tool.
Thank you all for taking the time to submit, upvote, and comment on this idea. We hear you loud and clear, and we agree that this functionality is important. We are continuing to evaluate this idea.
Any news about this feature request will be relayed on this thread, so stay tuned!
It would be amazing if you could also use properties for the "service" object on forms. This will be very important for collecting data from customers before they arrive or as they arrive for the service
This is much needed functionality and would greatly improve our deal closing processes. We need to be able to send a form to capture deal information that would then be pulled on to the quote for signature (eg multiple shipping addresses etc that are relevant to specific deals). We are unable to use a workflow to do this from contacts or companies because one contact/ company could potentially be associated to multiple deals for repeat customers. Currently we are having to look at alternative tools and adding complexities to our contracting process because this functionality is missing within Hubspot. Thanks!
We can create custom object records from forms by using hidden fields to set any required fields such as pipeline or stage. This same functionality should be able to be used to create deal records.
Right now data relevant to the deal has to be first collected on the contact object and then copied over. This means you have unnessesary properties on the contact object when we could just have that data enter and live on the deal object.
The fact that this idea has 211 comments, 729 upvotes, and was submitted in 2018 is absolutely crazy to me. Can the HubSpot team explain why this hasn't been prioritized? This is a sales CRM, and not making Deal properties accessible in forms is wild!! I've come across two client projects in just the last 2 days that needed this functionality for key workflows.
Why is this still, after being requested in 2018, not present in hubspot?
As many have outlined, this is a critical piece of functionality, and currently results in a tremendous amount of duplicate properties throughout many hubspot databases due to organizations needing contacts to be able to create multiple deals.
There's 11 pages of replies!!!
All we've been getting in response is messages of "We are continuing to evaluate this idea" when we should be getting an answer of "We will be adding this idea next quarter"
Let it be known that I will not be recommending hubspot to anyone in need of a CRM.
Thank you for the time you’ve taken to submit, vote, and share your thoughts on this idea over the past months (and for some of you, years). I know this request has seen a few different updates along the way, and I appreciate your patience throughout that journey.
My name is Jenny, and I’m the new Product Manager for Forms & CTAs.
I’ve recently taken ownership of this area, and I want to be upfront about where things stand.
We’re officially kicking off work on this next week, and this functionality is now on our roadmap. The first phase will be a structured investigation into the feasibility and scope of this functionality. This will include:
Reviewing the technical approach and constraints
Mapping out core use cases
Assessing scope, effort, and potential paths forward
Most of this investigation work will take place early in the new year. Once that wraps, we’ll be in a position to make informed decisions and move into build. Our goal is to deliver this in the coming months, and I’ll keep you updated as we progress toward that.
While I’m not able to provide a timeline right now, I want to avoid setting expectations prematurely.
What I can commit to is transparency - I’ll share updates once this investigation phase concludes so you will not be left wondering.
Thank you again for your patience and for continuing to advocate for this functionality.
I hear you, and my goal is to ensure this request receives a thoughtful and thorough evaluation.
I’ll keep this thread updated as we make progress.
If you have any questions or concerns in the interim, feel free to reach out to me via DM.
For anything that would benefit the full group, please continue to use this thread - it helps us keep context in one place.
