Trigger a sequence to enroll or unenroll automatically (Sales & Service Professional)

The ability to configure automatic enrollment and unenrollment for a sequence based on preset criteria.

Provide Professional tier customers with the ability to automatically trigger a sequence to enroll or unenroll based on different contact criteria or engagement.

This is now in public beta! View the flow here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8u1n51n

Details on existing functionality:

  • You'll be able to create automation triggers from an individual sequence, that then create actions for that specfic sequence.
    • EX: you'll be able to set a sequence to automatically enroll when a specific form has been submitted. Or you can set a sequence to unenroll when a specific page is viewed.
  • The intial 'triggers' are 'Form submission' and 'Page view'
    • We have chosen these triggers first because each are 'reactive' scenarios. Sequences in these scenarios can be built with a personalized/segemented scenario in mind, and would trigger one at a time
    • We still strongly discourage any scenarios of 'proactive bulk automation' at all tiers. As we include new triggers and actions, we hope to be prudent in avoiding functionality that might directly or indirectly encourage this type of use: IE: Enrolling a large list of contacts into a sequence
  • The actions are 'Enroll in sequence' and 'Unenroll from sequence'
  • We currently have this functionality in a public beta. We will be taking in feedback through our internal channels during the beta for the couple of weeks, and will make this feature live without yet the addition of new triggers or actions.

Any ETA on timing? Would have been great to have it consistent with what was delivered for Enterprise.

Amazing please launch this yesterday!

Hi why the delay is providing this for the professional tier clients.  It feels we are being treated as second class citizens.

This looks great, do you have any updates on ETA?

Any update on this feature? have clients asking about it every week.

I am also disappointed that this will only be available for Enterprise level subscription. We have the Pro subscription and would really benefit from this.

Its bad that all these people have asked for an update and no response has been posted

@glencornell.. An update would be good.

Would love to see this in place, my sales manager has been asking me for this for years.

Sounds like everyone here is asking the same thing -- why the delay in rolling this out to Pro customers? The technology can't be that different between the two-level of accounts, can it?

Bad communication from Hubspot @glencornell I Tagged you 4 weeks ago and have not had a response.

Hi everyone! I'm happy to let you all know that our first version of these new Sequences automation settings are now in beta, and can be accessed through request to your POC at HubSpot, or through a support rep. Just let them know that you'd like access to the "Embedded Workflows within Sequences Automation" feature and they'll be able to submit a request through our internal 'Success app'.

Next steps and longer-term plans:

  • We are viewing this 'Automation' section as the beginning of a new approach to setting and adjusting the behavior of Sequences. You may notice that default behavior such as 'Email reply -> Unenroll contact from sequence' is also present in this new area of settings, but not yet 'editable'. We hope to build on this functionality, and more closely leverage workflow automation, to get to a point where this, and many other settings are at your control.
  • We are also in progress providing new 'Sequence-based triggers' for the entire HubSpot platform. This will allow Sequence properties to be used in List building, Report building, and Workflows. You can follow that progress here.
  • Our immediate next steps in the category of Sequence automation settings will be related to more granular unenrollment criteria, and how that relates to reporting in Sequences. We plan to expand on the current Sequence unenrollment outcomes, and provide more control for how those are set. For example, when using the 'Unenroll from sequence' action, many folks would benefit from knowing why the sequence unenrolled (IE: Connected call).
