I'm shocked to see that HubSpot does not have the ability to see who has watched your video and for how long they have viewed it.
This would be perfect for videos that are required views, such as for training.
It would also be helpful to see how much of a video a contact has viewed, especially for sales and marketing. This can tell us if the video is too long, too short, if contacts are missing info, etc.
I was absolutely shocked this wasn't a capability either! We are using Wistia to get that percentage viewed at the contact level - which works well, but it's a little clunkier than necessary simply because you are dealing with two platforms instead of one.
@JWalczy, this would be super helpful. The problem for me is I cannot see the "percent played" option. Any idea of why I wouldn't be able to access that for the X axis? Everything else sets up fine.
@JWalczyActually, I did finally find it. Some collection of parameters didn't allow it to show. Not sure what those were but now it's showing. Thanks for the instruction - very helpful.
It is also possible to create lists based on who viewed specific videos via the Media Interactions filter https://knowledge.hubspot.com/lists/determine-your-list-criteria#media-interactions. We don't currently show the length of time or specific portions of the video individual contacts view though (something we could potentially offer), but we do show that data in aggregate via the Video Retention chart at the bottom of the Content Details page.
@JGinter thank you for this question and @JWalczy thank you for the solution. I created a report but the % is showing is not the real (I test with 2 emails/contacts) and also I tried with seconds played but is not showing me the real seconds for Example I watched 12 minutes of the video and is showing me only 28 seconds. or Maybe is there something else I need to do to display this on real time? Thank you so much for your help
@AngelicaEnGen , I haven't actually tested my report the way you did, but I know in general tracking the time a visitor spends on a page is often inaccurate, perhaps it's the same for video views.
I'd suggest this report is less suited for tracking the exact seconds/percentage viewed, and better for just a general idea of whether someone viewed at least some of the video at all. Maybe you can talk to support about the discrepancies, and tell us here if they give you a solution?
