I would like to be able to see property history for line items on deals. Deletions, additions, changes in pricing, terms, etc.. Being able to view this information and see how a deal evolves would be very beneficial to our sales team.
Yes 100% tracking changes with line items through property history would be super useful. It seems it's being logged as you can set up workflows to see changes to line item properties so this data must be somewhere. Similarly would like line item based workflows.
I'd love any kind of step in this direction. We had an issue where someone changed some SKUs on some deals and we cannot see who changed them, when they were changed, or what they were before. I thought to use a property history report, but that doesn't work either since these are product properties and line items are treated as some weird, in between thing.
Absolutely, having a detailed property history for line items on deals is a fantastic idea and can provide valuable insights to your sales team. Being able to track changes such as deletions, additions, pricing adjustments, and modifications in terms or quantities is crucial for understanding how a deal evolves over time. This feature would not only enhance transparency but also facilitate better decision-making and communication within your sales team.
Moreover, the ability to know when someone deletes a line item or changes quantities on line items within each deal can be particularly useful also. This level of visibility ensures that any alterations made to the deal are documented and accessible, which can be helpful in maintaining a clear record of the deal's history and resolving any potential disputes or misunderstandings.
Hey HubSpot, wake up! How is it that we don't have this functionality?!?! Stop treating line items/products/whatever you're calling it this week as a step child. Some of us live off of line items and you basically give us the scraps for updates!
@Lilliput00 same. For now I've created some workflows that give me a slack notification whenever someone makes a change to line items. However, I don't see the exact changes and of course no history/log 😕
Yes Please... We are using deal data within some custom API's that populate spreadsheets for our Purchasing and Forecasting teams. Sometimes our deals are created without line item data because the specific skus and qty's are not known at that time. Then the sales team would go back into the deal and add the line item data later on.
The API triggers on a timestamp property based on when the deal was last updated. However, changes/additions to line items are not considered an update to the deal. They wouldn't be included in activities either. We need a way to retrigger the API to update when line items are added or changed because simply running the API for all open deals every night maximizes the number of allowable API calls before the entire process is done running.
I did find a solution for finding at least some data. This API Guide includes a parameter when retrieving line items called propertiesWithHistory that at least gives you something. It's not quite perfect though as I haven't found out how to see who made that update though.
Please add historical information for line items! HubSpot provides great historical information for everything else - would love to have this included as well.
