The option to turn off "create new contact" when BCC email does not match existing contact

We would like to turn OFF the option to create a new contact when a BCC email does not match an existing contact. 

Gmail has the option to BCC every email sent from our salespeople under the "complance" setting. 

This would have the effect of:

1. Logging every customer email. Period.

2. Not logging non-customer email. 

 

The current tools do not work. 

1. Asking the salespeople to check/uncheck the 'log' box in Gmail is a manual process. Ineffective.

2. The current tools do not work if a salesperson communicates via their phone or desktop client. Asking them to manually bcc every single email conversation ineffective.

Without the ability to "NOT create new contact for emails that don't already exist in email" many hubspot features are USELESS. We cannot integrate with gmail. We have created terrible scripted work arounds just to get basic functionality. Some people INSIST on using he gmail integration and we now have to go through all of our contacts to remove the support@, invoice@ emails and manually remove random vendors that end up in our database.

 

THERE IS NO WAY THAT AUTOMATICALLY CREATING NEW CONTACTS FROM RANDOM GMAIL IS GDPR COMPLIANT!!! What a mess.

Exactly - we have disabled 'Log to CRM' for now, and have told people to be sure to check the box when you want teh email logged and are sure the Contacta lready exists - but that is extremely unreliable (people forget, or just choose not to).

 

We actually want a policy in place that all emails are logged and the User has noe choice about it - but we certainly cannot even ask for such a feature, unless/until the ability to Log emails for existing Contacts only is there.

I agree with this request. This feature creates a lot of unwanted contacts in the CRM. All of the created contacts are missing some of the required fields we have set to create new contacts. The contacts are often created when clients do a reply all to emails we sent them with tracking enabled and then cc accounting, their boss and their entire team...
