Currently the Hubspot goas module does not support: 1. Using team goals in reporting & forecasting
2. Creating and using sub-goals.
However, it's quite common to:
A. Want to report on overall revenue goal achievement in a fiscal year
B. Break it down into goal achievement in each team.
Thus, I suggest Hubspot finds a way to handle this. It is already possible to type in team revenue goals, but the user cannot use them for anything, even if they are assigned to a pipeline where revenue is made.
Secondly, it should be obvious that reporting on team goals is more accurate for a business than reporting on the sum of user goals. The reason for this is that the sum of the user goals and the overall team goal might not always be the same; people change jobs and a company can have a period of time with an employee deficit. That should not skew reporting, neither force a company to revise their goals because their CRM can't handle it.
So, anchoring forecasting & reporting on the individual goals will challenge any business where employees resign/are added to the team.
I pledge for Hubspot's goal (pun intended) to be to solve this challenge in their architecture before removing the "beta" label from the goals module.
Revisting this after a year - I know HubSpot has done some work on the forecasting tool but I still see the notification "It is not possible to report on Team goals" in the Knowledge Base. Has anyone seen updates/progress on this idea?
With all due respect, given the immense demand for various features in a system as capable as HubSpot, it's really odd that we cannot extract reports with team goals. The 'Set Goals' function shouldn't have been developed at all if you can't generate reports on progress. Unfortunately, you've missed something very basic here.
Pulling team goals into reports would be a huge improvement over the sum of user goals, exactly as noted in the idea it is not always reflective of the true team goal if there are team members still being hired.
It has been really frustrating that this has not been solved yet. It makes this tool useless. I wish HubSpot would put more thought into some of the tools before releasing them and ensure they include features that make the product worthwhile to use. I understand that they cannot build everything immediately but some things cannot be missed.
Completely agree with this request. It is not uncommon to have individual rep quota goals and a different overall company revenue goal. If you can create multiple goals (rep, team), why can't you report on these different goals.
Voted for this, really surprising that we can't report on team goals, only individual is pretty useless to be honest. It would also be good to be able to report on a company-level goal as well - we have multiple teams across different territories and I have no way of doing that in HubSpot with getting out a calculator or turning to a spreadsheet. I don't think this is something unique to my business, it would be good for the goal reporting function to align much better with common management needs.
Would love the ability to include Team revenue goals in reporting instead of only being able to select from User revenue goals. I have many clients who don't see revenue goals as a sales rep by sales rep metric, but rather as a team.
Absolutely - it seems crazy to be able to have team goals but then to not be able to report on them. I agree with all of the feedback that leadership is looking for top-level not individual
Agree with this - the team goals won't change as much as individual users - and with staff turnover, this is too unpredictable to manage - when the overall regions and teams know what their top level target is.
