I know this has been proposed many times before by other members, but I too would greatly benefit from being able to apply, modify, or remove tax on a line item level on quotes.
Product library entries should have tax properties saved, and then I should be able to apply tax to only the line items that I want at the quote/deal level.
PLEASE!!! I need tax treatment with taxable, amount of tax, type of tax, at line item so we can show a quote inc GST, Ex GST or n/a GST. The quote then reflects this showing relevant totals. Can tax applicability be set at product level or overwritten in quote eg it may change for export / import situations
I have been after this for the entire time we have had Hubspot. It is incredible this is still not done - I know tech its not easy...BUT still this is nowadays business basics:)

Pretty much mate! there is a solution that I think is on its way. It will address fundamentals. I was fortunate enough to have a little input at some point and was explaining about different taxes on different products and that how that needs to be accounted for. Don't 'quote' me on this but you should be able to assign at product level the tax type, %/amount and a taxability y/n. At the quote level I indicated that amount of tax at line item and as part of the total needs to show and am hoping it will also enable the level of line item over-ride that can apply in some situations eg an import/export situation for exceptions not the norm. I am not sure their plans re a full on accounting level solution but based on what I have seen - I anticipate it working for sales teams.
Adding the tax at the product level is fine, but many states have sales tax based on zip code, product type and even state tax. Is that something that is coming?
Tax is complicated and very varied from different locations. I am not sure about the Post code aspect - that needs to be asked to Hubspot. I believe that when speaking with them I was reminded that this is not an accounting system but an attempt to address the majority situations. It is a WIP and will also change over time too.
Please automate sales tax in the US. I've been using TaxJar in Stripe, and I'm disappointed to discover that it's not functioning in the Hubspot/Stripe integration after working on my HS account for days. Thank you.
Essentially I'm looking to clone the 'One-Time Tax' and make it a 'Recurring Tax' so that it appears in the SubTotals rather than the price of the line item. And @VictoriaGumaer feel free to reach out to me about it 🙂
Right now it is only possible to add 1 percentage of tax to the whole quote. We work with products that have 0%, 6% and 15% taxes. I can't just add 15% tax to one item and 6% to the other if they are in the same in quote.
The only way possible now are these very non-optimal work-arounds:
1: I must add a new line item for every product in we have for example named 'tax line item A' with the percentage of tax that line item A has. Than i could add that to the quote aswell.
2: I have to send multiple quotes for line items with different taxes.
Both options are definitly not optimal and i would really like to see it getting fixed. Thanks!
