Syncing activities with Salesforce - and the need for the HUbspot owner to be an active SFDC user
We are using the Marketing Hub for marketing and our main CRM system is Salesforce. we recently turned on the activities sync between the 2 systems in order to sync form submissions and marketing email clicks so that sales people would be able to see thaat information in salesforce. it turns out that the sync doesnt work if the Hubspot contact owner is not an active user in Salesforce as well. our Hubspot owners are marketing people, some of them dont have salesforce access. even if we give them salesforce access they will not be active there and will probably be deactivated after a while (our salesforce automatically deactivates users who are not active for over 6 months). I undesrstand the logic saying that if someone has an activitiy in HS than he should be the one that is assigned that activity in SFDC as well. but these are not activities like tasks and meetings. these are marketing activities the contact has made like form submissions. for us HubSpot is the marketing system, so the contact owners are the marketing people, in SFDC the owners are sales people, its a different functionality. I suggest to remove the requirement for the HS owner to be an active user in SFDC.
