I'd love to see 2 way synch to google contacts as an option. Many apps use google contacts. For example, Evernote app has a business card scan function. Take a picture of a business card and it can add the details to your phone contacts. This can then synch to Google contacts. By just having the ability to sync from google contacts to Hubspot you gain this business card scan functionality.
If a contact has a new email or phone number, I need this on my phone, so a change in Hubspot CRM should be synched to google contacts.
I consider this to be fundamental, and this functionality exists in the Insightly free CRM - I am surprised I couldn't find a request for this (apologies if I have missed it).

I could not be more excited to report that HubSpot's native Google Contacts sync has now shipped! It is part of the newly launched Operations Hub and is now available to all customers at all tiers of the HubSpot product, including Free (with default field mappings - upgrade to Operations Hub Starter for custom field mappings).
We are currently working on a HubSpot built integration between HubSpot and Google contacts. We would love to get user feedback on how we are thinking about this integration. Please fill out this form if you are interested in providing feedback to our product team.
Hi everyone! I’m Collette, the Product Manager on the App Marketplace team. Thanks for taking the time to post, comment, and upvote this Idea. You can sync your CRM with Google Contacts through PieSync, who recently joined the HubSpot family. A full explanation of how to do so can be found here. We’re working closely with our PieSync team members to make it even easier for you to connect your systems, so keep an eye out for more exciting features!
Hi @dzunker - as of now, integrating a Google Contacts Sync natively into HubSpot is not on the product roadmap. However, one of our integration partners, Import2 has developed a valuable integration here that I would strongly recommend trying out! http://wizard.import2.com/apps/hubspot/.
Thank you to everyone who has commented on this post. I am a member of the HubSpot Product team and am looking to understand how you would use the Google Contacts and HubSpot CRM Sync.
From the postings thus far - I am seeing 2 trends
1) Data consistency
2) The ability to leverage Google Contacts on Mobile
What are the other uses that you would leverage and prefer from this integration to make this a valuable addition to the HubSpot platform?
This native integration would provide a significant value proposition, given that contacts data is where one finds the customer information upon which "CRM" is premised.
Google is one of the standards for Contacts/Email. Full contact integration would be extremely beneficial not only to the customers, but to building your client base.

Having a google sync feature would enable me to continue to add contacts the way I am used to... using Google Contacts on my phone and on the desktop. It would be great to have that ability, knowing it is syncing with Hubspot and automatically being added there as well. Not having the sync feature makes me feel as though there is the potential for info to be on one, and not the other.
I am using Zapier to try and correct the challenge that HubSpot creates by not having "the basics" set-up before launching this product. Unfortunately, HubSpot CRM is the best of the worst right now. I will continue to use HS CRM/Sales while I look for something better built and more responsive to thier users needs. Hopefully everyone is doing the same. I am very interested in sharing our problem sets to get groups of users (customer segments) aggregated. Then we may be able to pay a private developer enough to create good product. (and work with us to improve it). I would think that $50 x 1000-10,000 would be a decent amount for a small dev team to create a product built for us that doesn't simply try to get us to use their other products (HubSpot Marketing). I know I would spend 2x-4x for someone that gave a **bleep**. Certainly a dev somewhere realizes there is value in helping "regular folks" like us make a living vs trying to be a billionaire. - FrustratedATX
! moved to Salesmate. It's a stripped down, cheaper version of HS that has everything I need. If it doesn't have a feature I want/need, it gets developed and rolled out in less than 30 days ( so far). I am not affiliated with them at all, just a fan and user. https://www.salesmate.io/
Dylan - great to see that you guys are working on this! It's an important function for sure, particularly at the very beginning of implementation. For example, if the Hubspot administrator has to work with even a moderately sized sales team, the ability for them to input/sync a handful of contact extremely easily is critical. It can be the difference between using Hubspot or not.
A few CRM systems out there already have some good contact sync functionality. Don't reinvent the wheel. I suggest that you guys do your homework and see who is doing it the best. Check out Insightly, Pipedrive, Prosperworks, Zoho, and others. Some do it well and others don't. Also look at how FullContact functions. The Zapier Zap doesn't seem to be the best example, as I believe it only adds NEW Contacts to Hubspot.
Edits and updates in either Google Contacts or Hubspot should be two-way synced.
I completely understand the complexities involved with so many variables. Even some of the CRM systems that offer a two-way sync don't execute it well. Keep at it though! And thanks!
Dylan, the two points you mention are the primary benefits of Google contacts sync. Most of the primary mechanisms to communicate with customers involve Google contacts... GMail or GSuite for email, Android for phone/SMS and others like WhatsApp, which rely on the contacts stored on the phone.
Sync-ing with Google contacts would also allow any app that I use for other business purposes to have access to my contacts without waiting for HS integration. For example, I can use a Google contacts to Facebook sync tool to synchronize my contacts to my business FB account, thereby allowing me to communicate with my customers over FB Messenger.
A two way sync is a must have. Every change made in contact or in Hubspot should be reflected in each app (Including a deleted contact, in order to keep everything clean).
All the zapier thing does not work well and it is very time consuming to set-up. Insightly does it very well.
Just to add a possible complexity here from our side, in that we have G-Suite at a company level and are looking to keep a synced list of contacts from this in HS so we can send internal newsletters directly to individuals. At the moment we create the emails in HS then have to manually send onto distribution lists - which is both clunky and gives us no engagement insight etc.
Is this something that is possible as part of the work it looks like you're doing with Google contacts??
I moved from Zoho CRM to Hubspot last month and am regretting it. I am now faced with yet another CRM migration away from Hubspot because guess what..............MY MOBILE PHONE IS FULL OF NUMBERS THAT DON'T HAVE FREAKIN CONTACT DETAILS SO I HAVE NOT IDEA WHO CALLED, OR WHO I CALLED AFTER HALF A DAY. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????
