Sync property values between Contact, Company and Deal Records
Would love the ability from within at least the Sales side of things to automatically map/populate Deal Properties from a Contact's properties. We came over from Salesforce where this could be done in conversion, and this is definitely an area we miss having & would make life MUCH smoother for our staff upon creating deals.
Hi all. You've asked for it and it's now here! I am super excited to share that Sync Property Type is now rolling out incrementally to all Pro and Ent portals. Please see Kyle's demo (and leave your comments!)
I’m Shay, the Product Manager for HubSpot’s Properties.
Thank you all for taking the time to submit, upvote, and comment on this Idea. I'm happy to report that this Idea is now In Planning! This means that our engineers are actively building this feature.
The product development process is always filled with unexpected bumps and hurdles, so I can't give a timeline, but I am confident in saying we'll deliver this feature as soon as possible.
All updates will be relayed on this thread, so stay tuned!
@ClemOaky you're correct - we're in the process of backfilling those values for the deal and company object. When that happens, that should get us much closer to being able to solve the issue the author raised.
We are beginning to plan how to best solve the problem of syncing property values between object records in HubSpot to meet the needs of our customers.
We would love to hear your thoughts or feedback on how we can improve your experience.
Couldn't agree more! Also, for reporting purposes, to be able to export how many deals are associated with the company. If we want to send a mailing to a specific buyer, the address only lives on the company record and isn't pulled into the contact!
Syncing values will help us tremendously with our workflows. Currently, we create a workflow to copy properties between deals and contacts to enable more customization within our internal email templates.
I would love to be able to create a list that references properties from both the "Deals" object and the "Contacts" object. It's crazy that you have to continuely copy data from one record to the other instead of just accessing it in one place.
When creating new contacts from the Company card it would be a big time save to be able to customize what company info auto-populates. For example Company Name and Address should auto-populate when a contact is created from the Company Card page.
Posting here to reinforce that we really need this as a native feature in HubSpot. It is one of the most useful features in any CRM and would be an extremely big help when it comes to data cleanliness and consistency of data entry. Right now we have to have people enter the same information on multiple connected records. Put simply, it doesn't always happen because people get lazy or forget, and over time the data just becomes chaos.
Big yes please to this! We are reliant on workflows to update company fields from contact fields, but this is hampered by workflow re-enrollment limitations.
At the moment it's creating additional manual work as I update certain properties on my contact and then need to update the deal and move it along the pipeline.
First point: Bringing contact's properties to deal's on lead's qualification
It can be achieved with workflows nowadays. We have created a dropdown that actually works like a button. If selected, the workflow fires then the workflow sets back the button to empty value. A "button" property type would make the things cleaner but except than that, it works fine. Only challenge is that info is printed from contact to deal. So if one or the other gets updated, the other is not. If interested, the idea for the button is here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Workflow-trigger-Button-click/idi-p/204893
Second point: having summarized value on one object based on another object
From a database design standpoint, this should not be needed. But flat design sometimes help. For example, filters can only be used on one object. So if the data is on another, it's an issue. A use case we had was to know what is the most advanced deal stage of a contact when a contact has more than one deal. We tried to make this work with workflow but could not make it work due to re-enrolment reasons.
To fix that, I would suggest two things:
1/ To have hubspot improve re-enrolment logic
2/ To have hubspot develop a few, clearly defined fields that are syncronised. Some are already existing like "most recent amount" on contact
We're a real estate company that tracks our potential customers as contacts before they become deals. We need to be able to immediatey associate contact info (name, email, address, etc) with a deal once that deal is created, without copy and pasting that info. Allowing contact properties to be cross referenced to deal properties would be a game changer for us!
PLEASE MAKE THIS POSSIBLE, ITS KILLING OUR PRODUCTIVITY (AND DATA ACCURACY)!
We work with brokers, resellers, direct clients and really need properties to cross over between contact, company and deal. The cards are nice but not enough. We have to have duplicate properties to be able to track kpis and keep our book of business in order. This leads to mistakes when a typo is made or a property isn't updated under one of the categories.
