Support for Smart content on external websites (like Wordpress) just like smart CTA's w/ embed code

Smart CTA's can be added to any external website (for example Wordpress), by injecting the JavaScript embed code HubSpot can create for CTA's.

Similarly, it should be possibly to add smart content to websites hosted outside of HubSpot (in particular Wordpress), by embedding JavaScript code in the same way this already works for smart CTA's.

Hello HubSpot Community,

I'm Dom and I’m a Product Manager at HubSpot. I’m really interested in finding out how folks are currently using CTAs, what’s working, what’s not working and what new functionality you’d like to see in the future. Please DM me if you’re interested in sharing your feedback and jumping on a quick 30 min call with myself and the team.

Best,

@Anonymous Thank you for the clarification, I think I haven't been clear with the use-case.

I want to control the content on an external website, where the content belongs to the external site and not hubspot. I just want to use hubspot checks to show either contentA or contentB. But both contentA and contentB belong to my external site and not in HubSpot's CMS.

I don't see how that can be achieved using your solution.

But I think it's a good solution to show forms or other stuff depending on the user's previous interaction, but of course the content should all be in HubSpot.

@umair In your use-case you are not talking about Hubspot Content, so I would recommend looking at your CMS for a solution.  HubSpot is an amazing set of tools but it can only control content which it hosts or creates.  If you use Wordpress as your CMS you may want to look into an A/B content plugin.

Not a fan of iframes, but a solution we have found for forms was to use a Smart CTA and add the code for the form. I haven't tested it with content, so I am not sure if there are any limitations.

Using the Smart CTA feature, we were able to show forms depending on whether the user had already filled out a form or some other user action.

Is Hubspot not implementing this to push us towards using the Hubspot CMS? I think that they should provide us with both options. For the monthly fee I think it's fair that we can make this decission ourselves. To me Wordpress is more user frienly than the Hubspot CMS (right now). But now I feel like we're missing out on the full scope of functionalities we're paying for.

As a customer support specialist, I would appreciate seeing this capability for our customers. Thank you! 🙂

As well as adding smart content, I wish we could also insert variables and personalization tokens directly in Wordpress.

For instance, it would allow us to show the number of our users or certains other stats on our homepage (data that is already in our Hubspot API and that we use regularly in our marketing emails).

It would allow us to personalize content directly on our website without having to create additional Hubspot Landing pages.

Third parties like "Logic Hop"(see "Display HubSpot with Logic Tags") do have an Hubspot to Wordpress integration, but of course it's not free.

I feel like the Hubspot Wordpress plugin should natively offer these features.

We are desperately searching for this capability 🙂 Would love to see it come to life. We would like to show some "ads" in our dashboard that we can dynamically control the content from in Hubspot. CTA embed is great but its only for a button/link. I would like the ability to have a "super cta" that includes a headline and body text with that cta... it would be PERFECT. CTA is great, its just not enough.

This is just about the only thing I miss from Pardot. IMO creating this feature will strengthen HubSpot's position in customers stack.

We really need this capability as well. We have some very diverse audience segments that I would like to provide an alternate home page experience among other personalizations. (One personalization that shouod be easy and quite useful, would be to display a message like "You may not be getting our emails - click here to see if your settings are too restrictive." This would lead to a page or a modal that shows if they've opted out to some particular email type or on a suppresion list.)

I don't want to pay Webeo to do this when Hubspot already has it, just not for non-Hubspot sites. I hope this isn't something kept form development so Hubspot can get more people to use their CMS, because that just seems like punishment for their biggest customers who have too many other requirements to be able to use Hubspot for their entire website.
