Setting Default List Columns at a Global Level

Would it be valuable for anyone else to be able to set which property columns are visible on lists at a global level?

Our team is currently reviewing the feasibility of this idea (as well as this one: Fix columns on Lists.) and, if so, how our team will implement a solution.

Yes, we would like to set different columns for different lists for all to see. This important as some properties are only applicable to specific lists.

This amazing idea was first proposed on this thread in 2019 (5 1/2 years ago).

 

We finally got an update 3 years later (2022).

 

It's now July 2024, this is something that we all so desperately need. Please make this a top priority.

 

For every new employee I onboard, I have to manually walk them through editing columns so the correct properties display to allow them to have the best experience. This is NOT scalable.

 

Please implement ASAP, it's been over 5 years this has gone on ignored.

Really need something like this, I can't believe it wasn't already a feature.

 

Additionally, you should be able to set the columns for a particular list. Like, set some columns as required or locked in.

And updates here? We use Lists for segmented outreach and I typically ask my sales and service team to review the list prior to sending and remove anyone that wouldn't be appropriate to reach out to, for example, already engaged in a sales conversation or recently stated bad timing. I was spending a lot of time editing the columns to the criteria that might help the team make a decision only to realize they weren't seeing the same columns. If a List owner edits the columns, it should apply to the List, not the browser. I don't want to create both a List and a Contact View for every outreach we do. Also, from the Contacts View, you cannot remove from a static list, only add to it.

How is this not by default, out-of-the-box? How it is possible to not fix it after 5 years of comments...

My customers are asking why can't we make global columns for all users. What should I answer them? In 5 years?

Is there any update? This seems like such a basic feature. It'd be extremely beneficial.

This feature is badly needed for admins, especially as not all users are aware of how to customise their views. 

 

It would be great to have standard columns set on new lists and also override any custom views.

Please make this feature available, as it'll help ensure everyone gets the most essential information. 

 

It should provide admins with the ability to: 

- Set the default columns in view for any new list created.

- Update the default columns in view for available list.
