I would love to be able to add in the new association labels using a workflow - rather than needing to do this manually.
this would enable businesses who have contact A who makes a booking and Contacts B, C, D etc who attend a course or an event flagged as attendees. so a business knows which are valuable contacts.
It would also be helpful to be able to use a workflow to send different communications to clients based on their association tag.
@yrabow We're looking into Associate with the hope that it would allow us to assign association labels at the point of contact creation in a workflow. Based on what I was reading online about the tool I was *hoping* it would allow for this - based on your experience was that a functionality of the tool?
My team needs to be able to use playbook questions to change the association label of a contact for whatever object the call was logged in. Automation of association label assignments would be a huge help.
We're using the association label so that we know which deal for the company to copy a field over from the company to the deal that just closed. So I'm hoping in the workflow, assigning the association label will also have the logic that I can assign it to the most recently closed deal, as many companies may have multiple deals.
Yep, this seems like a very logical thing for us to be able to set via a workflow and would be really helpful when trying to specify if a Deal should be moved to Closed/Won automatically when a Customer may have multiple Deals open.
Thought I'd put this here as a possible solution for you all!
Integration Glue has a Micro App that enables you to create associations between Objects in HubSpot. I have created quick recording below on one use case of associating Contacts to a Custom Object "Events" with the Association Label of "Attendee". (please excuse the cursor bugging out in the video)
In this use case, it's associating based on the Event's Record ID being stored on a Contact via a hidden field on a Form, however, I've implemented this in a number of other scenarios. It also has the option to associate based on properties being equal, e.g if you store external system ID's on HubSpot records or if you capture an email address against a non-Contact record.
I hope this is helpful! If you're interested in utilising Integration Glue, please reach out here: Integration Glue Contact Us
@KCTravison exactly!!! We need this for the exact same use case. Great to hear you use the same logic and expect the same thing : this feature should be there!
Here's a short update from the team. Now that the [Public Beta] Data Panel with associated record data in workflows is open to the public, we've begun working on the "Set Association Labels" action that everyone in this thread has been patiently waiting for. After we complete our exploratory phase for the project, the team will be able to give a rough estimate on when we'd expect to have this ready for our beta testers. Stay tuned for more information.
@zeke, thanks so much for the update. We can't wait for this feature as it is more important than the association label feature itself! And I hate to bring this up, for fear of giving you ideas. . . But PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, do not make this option a part of Operations Hub. This is deal related, sales related, and being so fundamental, should be a part of the Sales Hub Professional package (same level of feature inclusion as the association labels themselves).
@Amevian Thanks for bringing that up as it is also as important as the feature itself! @zeke Please make it a feature of the Sales Hub Professional package 🙏
@zeke I've just started using the beta for this and it looks great. Not sure how to pass on feedback to posting it here.
I have linked hubspot built app from the Market place for Asana. this allows the creation of Asana tasks.
I have a deal based workflow. that I was hoping to use the company propertied for when creating an Asana Task.
but it looks like currently the Beta to use assocated data is not available for the linked Asana app step.
I tried addding a step to the workflow before the Asana step to add in the company data to see if this would allow the use of the company data in the following steps. no success.
so just wanted to pass this on as thats the point of Beta right trial and testing on what works and what doesnt.
It would also be great to have the option to set the association label(s) when creating the record. At the moment I can only see the option to create the association but you then have to go into the record again to set any association labels. We're trying to use the labels to assign roles/personas to our contacts and being able to force this upon creation of the contact, it's making manageing it impossible.
