Hence, one alternative is to copy-paste these messages through the Log+ > Log an email in the contact record.
However, when these messages are logged in this manner, the Activity type pegged to this is "Email sent to contact". It is not possible to set it as the "Email reply from contact" Activity Type. Being able to do this would be helpful in filtering lists and reports so that these messages can be bucketed in the appropriate activity type.
