Recently implemented Hubspot & am absolutely shocked & disgusted to find that I cannot search for a keyword in emails only in the subject line of the email. How is this possible in 2020 in a CRM system?!?!?!?! One of the reasons we implemented the system was to have a centralised activity history for each client so that we can find emails in one place without having to ask everyone to individually run a search in their outlook to find the email. Does anyone know if there are plans to fix this MASSIVE FLAW in the system or if there is any workaround I can use?
Add me to the list of people shocked to find this limitation in HubSpot. It's going to make my current project much more time consuming now that I realize I have to scroll our entire inbox, hoping I can sleuth out the particular emails I am searching for.
I would also like to chime in that this is functionality I was expecting. Content generated by the company for marketing purposes should be accessible from search. Please provide an update soon on your team's implementation schedule. This thread appears to have been receiving updates for a few months. Hopefully you are close.
ANOTHER basic feature that clearly isn't coming anytime soon. I don't think HubSpot understand the impact of what they are selling vs delivering currently. We have a Sales team selling an all in one system to unify the customer journey with all teams in one system and then when you get the system you quickly realise that not only is Service Hub lightyears away from much cheaper competitors, they have zero plans to improve it. This then ultimately means we end up havint to replace it with another system, defeating the reason we signed up
I think we're never seeing this feature...our support desk is really REALLY frustrated. We're still using our e-mail in Exchange to search for older information. Really ridiculous.
Honestly this is a feature I just assumed was available. I understand that the work needed for seemingly simple features sometimes is larger than people may think, however, I too must add to the choir of complaints here. This will cause us issues when trying to expand usage of Hubspot to other teams within our organization. It's the kinda thing where it won't matter to some users how good Hubspot is in other areas - this will affect their efficiency and will make them not want to use HS.
It's disappointing that this feature has still not been implemented. If HubSpot wants to be a true CRM (and not a marketing automation platform with some CRM features) this is a requirement.
OMG I just stumbled upon this problem as well.... All I know is that the particular mail I was looking for contains the word "Spain" in the body of the email, but are you telling me, that there is no way to search for a particular keyword? Are you serious? 😳
Not sure if this will ever be addressed. It appears Kevin from Hubspot who at least took time to discuss this issue with us on a call (a couple years ago...) is no longer with Hubspot. Wish Hubspot would take this seariously.
This is an enormous oversight. I understand the performance implications. But it is so fundamental the way modern software works that its kind of crazy that this is missing.
There is a workaround to this. The global search at the top of the page does not search email bodies. However, if you're in a shared inbox, there is a separate search in the top left after the inbox name that you can use to search within that inbox, and that does search email bodies. It's still disappointing that the top level search doesn't work, but this certainly helps us at least.
I think we're a little spoiled with how well Gmail search works. Very easy to find past messages with a word or two. From my experience Hubspot search brings up a lot of items that aren't what we're looking for and we have to search through those. A bit cluttered. I usually feel what we're searching for should be higher up in cue considering search terms and other messages shouldn't be there cluttering the search.
Also, we like to be able to search for something in a specific project / ticket and searching in the communications box and then going back and forth doesn't work well when moving fast.
Thanks @JGizowski. I definitely agree, it's far from perfect. But until recently, I didn't know that the mailbox-specific search was even available, so hopefully, this can bring some attention to it for others like me who glossed over it.
Unfortunately, the proposed workaround doesn't work in our use case.
The "search activities" function does not search through the email body text and this is causing inconvenience. We are looking for a way to easily locate specific information within our emails which is time-consuming when done manually.
