Revert all actions from a workflow

RasHot

Workflow are very powerfull, but they can be very harmfull for your system as well, if they aren't treated correctly.

Therefore, an option to simply undo all actions done by a workflow would be great!

This is very valid!

I just ran a workflow that was searching a free text field for an acronym of a technology that we sell and instead of searching the specified "word" it searched the sequence of characters.. 😞 now I can't und what the workflow did and I am left going through 3000 contacts to try and reverse it.

Same issue here. You should be able to undo a workflow.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for adding your thoughts & needs around this idea. We don't currently have anything planned for this, but will update this forum if & when we come back to it.

Best,

Jesse

Yes! This is imperative and will save us from all sorts of mishaps.

Absolutely Crucial!

We need to be able to undo workflow actions for selected contacts.

I have 500 contacts who went into a workflow by mistake, and I'm now left to individually check each of them....

I agree, this is essential - how hard is it to include a reverse function for this??? At least put it in your roadmap please!

My entire pipeline was just ruined by a workflow error that I cannot fix. Thousands of deals with incorrect value information with no way to fix it.

THIS NEEDS TO BE A PRIORITY PLEASE!

Workflows are very powerful and helpful but if done in error can cause massive headaches. This is table stakes for admins

Has this at all been worked on?

Hey folks! We're investigating options to "undo" property value changes performed by workflow actions. I'd love to speak to some customers to get a better sense of the use cases. Please reach out to me to chat 🙂

Hello!

I completely agree with you. Workflows are incredibly powerful, but if configured incorrectly, they can be very harmful. It's a huge problem, and it's why we created our app, WorkflowGuard.

Your idea of a "revert all actions" option is what we call an instant workflow rollback. With our app, you would have an automated backup of your workflow at all times. If you realize a workflow is configured incorrectly, you can simply open your history log and, with a single click, restore the entire workflow to a previous, healthy version.

This saves you from having to manually fix the workflow and ensures your automation is always running correctly.

You can try it out and see how it works with a 21-day free trial on the HubSpot Marketplace:

Use the AI workflow tool to create a workflow to mark open deals, lost, that are over 180 days old and less than $50k deal size. Reviewed the workflow and everything seemed to be good. Turned workflow on and apparently the two parameters were set to "or" and not "and" to include both. All our deals dating back 10 years ago that we won (but were under $50k) were all marked deal lost. Have 3,360 open/already won deals that were marked "lost" yesterday because of this error.  Obviously can't spend time going through every deal to find when they were actually won to set the won date, and cant set them all to won or else it will affect our monthly reporting since we didnt close 3000 deals today haha.

NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED a reverse button. I can see exactly when I turned the workflow on, so if the system saved a data copy prior to turning a workflow on, that would be super helpful.  Still don't know how I'm going to fix this mess...
