Reusable box of information for the knowledge base

Dear all,

 

how about having kind of text boxes that are stored and managed separately. Thus, I can use them multiple times over multiple articles within the knowledge base and just need to edit them in one place.

 

Possible use cases I can think of are:

  1. Versioning. If an article relates to the handling of a device. Let's say how to charge a device and how to update a device and the company is developing multiple devices in the future that share similar articles within the knowledge base. Instead of going trough all articles with the possibility to forget one, the version update can be done at one location and is automatically updated in all relevant articles.

 

  1. Responsibilities. Consider the knowledge base used for internal purposes like who is responsible for security and safety. The role is responsible for information about first aid, fire prevention, and occupational safety. There are multiple articles providing information to those topics within the knowledge base that also have contact information to the person who has this role. If the contact information change, the information just needs to be changed at one place and not over multiple articles manually. Thus, the risk to forget one article is reduced.
