Restrict users from bulk editing contacts or companies
There is a way to keep users from bulk deleting contacts, but I do not see a way to limit the ability for users to bulk edit. For instance, we use a "drop down menu" selection with a list of tags/keywords. We do this because I cannot find a tag function anywhere, but that is for another post:). It is a viable workaround for us. The issue is, if you bulk edit, and choose "replace" instead of "append" value, then all of the other tags dissapear. I am sure there are other reasons for wanting to restrict it, but this is ours. Thanks for listening.
We have restricted the Contact Owner property to only be editable by specific users and teams. However, any user is still able to select (individually or in bulk) contacts and use the "Assign to" option to edit or clear Contact Owner, even if their user/team is not assigned access to the property.
In my opinion this is a major oversight that pretty much renders the ability to assign Contact Owner access useless.
We have another use case for this restriction of Bulk Editing, in this case for Activities/Tasks.
Our salespersons currently maintain their ownership of a lead by having a future call associated with that contact.
If their next call to a prospect falls more than a month overdue, that lead is then free to be approached by other team members. In our legacy system, which we were using before HubSpot, users were only able to update a task's due date one by one, which meant there was less lead hoarding. Now, we are seeing many salespersons use the bulk-edit feature to move all their overdue tasks to the future, keeping their ownership of that lead, without them actually taking any action to pursue them.
Appreciate this is a niche use-case, and not best-practise in terms of lead ownership management, but this ability to disable bulk-editing of records would be very useful for us.
