Resetting lead scores

Hi Developers,

 

It would be a great function if it were possible to reset the lead score of a contact person to 0. This way, after e.g. a sales offer, it can be resetted to 0, and start recounting. This will benefit both the sales and marketing team of companies.

Our entire lead scoring program is in danger of grinding to a halt because of the lack of this feature. We're genuinely quite shocked to discover it doesn't exist as it is so fundamental. 
Has anyone found a workaround for this?

Have there been any updates to this at all? It's a pretty big design flaw and has been requested for years now.

We are working with a consultant – some of them in this group came from
HubSpot.. they say that for some unknown reason – “Political inside” or
structural the companies knows about the flaw, but fails to act on it.
Maybe a IP issue??? We will need to start looking at other tools if they
don’t act quickly as this is costing us 1,000’s of people hours to manually
sort.

+1. Why provide the option to customize the lead scoring criteria if there is no option to reset scores? Our new scoring system (tied directly to lifecycles) won't ever be accurate if we can't reset the old scores first.

Exactly – you would think, that given Google is thinking of buying HS for
$32 BILLION dollars, they would have enough programmers to get to these
easy fixes???????????

It's certainly frustrating for us as users. Not as frustrating as reporting
is though!
You can't reasonably draw a line between HS's investment in product and
rumours of Alphabet considering a bid though? At the size/value of HS it
isn't unreasonable to expect they might address some of these fundamental
and much-requested fixes though!

@DomRychlik As some above have said we reset our leads back to '0' if they don't move all the way through our lead funnel. Currently, we're adding them to negative score list and having to wait for a time period (15-25 mins) to have the score reset after a 24 hour period. We'd be open to try any betas you all are releasing for this feature

It's just wild that this is still an issue after 4 years. Give me access to the codebase and I'll fix it lol

In addition to the ideas mentioned, I would love a way to reset a lead’s score when they change companies or roles. A new company and potentially a new position mean different objectives and needs, so a reset would ensure their score reflects relevant, current engagement instead of outdated activity.
