Reset default contact and company field order for all users
It would be nice to be able to reset the default property orders for all users under contacts, companies and deals.
Some of our people set unique property field orders but we recently made some changes in the fields. Now, we have to update about 50 fields one by one for all users with unique field order.
It would be nice to have a button under the field settings to reset field order.
It's frustrating and surprising that currently this has to be done in a one by one basis. Ideally each user could set their preferred default view of the fields and can share the views with others.
Definitely a good feature to have. Over the years, fields change and what is important changes, Havign the ability to perform a reset of the defaulf for all users is extremely important.and then still allowing them to adjust from there for indivual purposes.
Bumping this. We've changed the default layout for fields in a company/deal, and would like it to apply across the whole account. Doing each company individually isn't super feasible!
The weirdest thing about this is that HubSpot partially does it... only for the right sidebar.
When you go to Settings | Data Management | Objects, then go to any object, be it Contacts, Companies, or Deals, then go to Records Customization, you are presented with the ability to customize the overview tab, etc. But of all of these, only going to "Customize the right sidebar," next to the "Default view," do you have three vertical dots to allow you to reset to the default view. Nowhere else.
Definitely a needed feature, have a lot of folks where tech doesn't come naturally so they are getting frustrated that as an admin I can't fix it for them
This would be incredibly helpful, I just made a support ticket request about this and was directed here to upvote - I see this request has been in since 2019, any idea on if/when this is a feature coming online?
The ability to reset all users default view is definitely required especially if new proerties are added or the order of properties are changed. Even if the reset allowed users to customize their view afterward, this would make sense.
Just came across this barrier. Four years into our Hubspot instance we need to make some universal updates and asking each and every user to reset is not a sensible option.
Yes yes yes. 6 years later and we still don't have this! We're trying to make data entry really easy for our front line users by organizing the default views a certain way. The fact that the default view isn't truly a default is super unhelpful and creates a huge barrier and lots of back-end clean up. PLEASE implement this!!!
Hey Everyone. You can do this now, sort of. Click on the actions dropdown which is next to "about this contact". From there click on "Customize Properties". Once on that new page, on the bottom right hand side of your screen you will see "Reset to system defaults" - Hope this helps
@pfinn Can you clarify what page you're referencing when you state, "Click on the actions dropdown which is next to "about this contact"? I also wonder if you're suggesting that we can default an individual user's account defaults. This thread is asking for the ability for an Admin to reset the view for ALL USERS in our account? Or better, all Users within a specified Team. The challenge I've found is that as new custom properties are added to support a company-specific work process, I currently have to request each User to update their views manually - versus having the ability to update views for all Users via an Admin function.
@jsimpson1 - sure can. It's when you're on a contact record. You'll see two options for the actions dropdown on the left hand side of the screen. Either one will work. I used the one just below the email, call, tasks buttons.
@pfinn Got it and found it. Can you clarify, though - does that option default to the original HubSpot defaults, and is that Global or for an individual User? What I'm attempting to do - and I believe what many on this thread are attempting to achieve - is define a company-wide / global layout and then extend that to all Users without each User's manual intervention. Thanks.
