It would be great to have pages that were gated via pop-up forms. The idea is that you come to a page, see a little bit of content, then to see the remainder you would have to fill out a pop-up form to see the rest. The issue with a password protected page is that it gives users no context on what is behind this password protected page.
Many informational companies have this capability on artices, blog posts etc.
