Report on task completion date, not due date in Sales Analytics tool

We stumbled across what we thought was an issue with completed task tracking not recording to user activities in the Sales Analytics tool.

 

After a conversation with the support team, it turned out the acitivty report uses the task due date when looking at completed tasks, instead of the task completion date.

 

This doesn't seem like a fair representation of activity, as there are going to be occasions where tasks are completed before or after their due date. Unless users remember to update the due date, that activity is tracked and reported on inaccurately.

 

Wouldn't it be more accurate to report on the Task completed date, than the due date?

Is this the case in custom reports?
