When creating a deal from a contact record, Hubspot will automatically title it as the Company Name (great) and add "- New Deal" on to the deal name as well. There is no way to configure the system so that it does not automatically do this.
As we like to keep our company and deal names the exact same for uniformity, automatically adding the "New Deal" is something we are constantly having to delete. I don't undertstand the reasoning for doing this as you can just runa filter if you want to see when a deal was created. If you don't manually edit, then you can have a 3-month old deal that is titled "new".
Thoughts:
- Just use the company name for the deal name if auto-populating.
- Allow us to specify a property field/token for the deal name
- Allow for custom copy for adding additional language onto an auto-pop deal name
Don't understand the purpose of this. Would love to see it being customizable or just plainly removed. This is proving to be quite annoying as either we have to delete it in the deal, or we have to delete it in the quote name (because have the term "New Deal" shown to your signing prospect is not very professional..
New hubspot customer and honestly shocked this hasn't been address in the 3 years this has been posted. Is this how you treat your customer's ideas?
It seems like a simple and necessary fix. It's annoying and it serves no purpose. It hinders data cleanliness and creates work on the back end for no real reason.
Do your due diligence HubSpot and show new customers you address favourable ideas.
March 2021, this is still a default setting. Anyone? @hubspot , can we get this changed so it's not by default? Does ANYONE actually use this "feature". It feels like an evolutionary holdover.
Can we please remove the wisdom teeth of hubspot? It's vestigial.
I've been in contact with the Product team about this thread, and I wanted to provide an update.
Currently, this feature is not on our immediate roadmap. It is on our list of features we'd like to build, but it will be some time before we have the resources available to dedicate to it.
This thread will remain open for upvoting and commenting. As we would like to develop this feature one day, please continue to provide feedback, suggestions, and use cases for how this would help your organization.
