Our company uses several complex site agreements, equipment loan agreements, etc. that do not have a cost. I love how effective creating a quote is for these agreements and the tracking and everything is fantastic and a huge time saver. We can see what is signed, what needs to be updated, etc. However, I wish it was possible to remove the line item cost from the quote. This would enable agreements to be tracked in the same way, but without the line item at the top.
We are in an industry that does not showcase the per line item price, just the total quote amount. We are having to use Pandadoc to create our quotes where we have the ability to hide the line item prices.
Seems like a simple solution to me as you can already add/remove table items from quotes but the line price is fixed and not removable.
This is definitely needed and should be a quote template option to include or remove the discount being shown on a per line item SKU basis. Please include this soon.
Sometimes I want to add items as a bill of materials and need to capture the Costs for us internally but dont need the client to see and ask if they could remove those items...
Each quote is different for us with so many variables that it is nearly impossible to use the Quote line items. How can we bypass the line item to move forward in the quoting process?
We are currently using SCORO and when creating quotes, we initially don't share the price with our customers in the first stage. We only show the quantity of the items needed or the total amount of the items. Please add the feature to remove or show the pricing total and each of the components also would be great to manually edit the 'Margins' rather than editing these in Deals.
A little bit of a workaround for this, which may work for some of you.... in the quote customization settings, you can go to Settings > Data Management > Quotes > Quote Templates. From there, under "your customized quote templates" you can edit a specific template. In the editing area, click on "line items table" and then delete any of the line item columns you don't want to show in the final quote, including unit price and total price.
In getting rid of individual line item unit and total pricing from the end view of the customer, you can set the price of ONE of the line items in the quote to be the total price of the contract, and have the rest be $0 values, therefore only showing a total value at the bottom to the customer.
I only experimented with this, but it could work depending on your needs and setup.
We have a similar issue. We don't price out each line item; we give a one-time price and one ongoing monthly price for all the products they are licensing from us. We'd like the ability to display only the product name and description without the price points or quantity.
We got around this by editing the quote template and removing 'unit price' from the 'line items table'. We now have a version with unit price and one without. I think HubSpot made the line items table more flexible as I was looking into this issue. Huge relief as otherwise were looking at options like pandadocs which would incur more cost. Our looks like below.
If hover over the item in line items table you will see a bin or trash can if you are US based so can also remove quantity.
Thank you, @MarketingMagpie, this is really helpful. How does the pricing show on your actual quotes when you do this? We'd like to turn off the unit price but also have a total up-front and total monthly cost display.
So @JWan1 on ours with no unit price we just have name, description and quantity. This shows down the right side and then at the bottom of the table we have a total price.
Ours are not paid monthly as our quotes all show total prices but the section that shows this will be the same so should work as expected. As you can see from image above.
I would recommend trialing it in the sandbox to see if works as expected or if not comfortable in the sandbox create a quote for someone within your organisation to see how it renders.
