When creating a quote you might have some small style or layout variate from a master template. Currently, the only way for a quote creator to adjust these is to have a unique template created or have a custom field in a deal or product that is referenced in the template. A developer could add boolean or choice fields to the quote object to give more layout control.
Below are some quote-level customizations that would be nice to have.
Comments to buyer to be rich text to allow for a personal letter to the buyer
This could be taken a step further. My clients need the ability to manipulate custom quote level fields. Only having name, comments and terms isn't doing it for their process. They need to be able to fill out different conditional custom fields depending on the situation at the time of creating a quote.
The only way I can do this right now is by creating a ton of templates which is not productive compared to having a smarter template and more control.
Specifically we need to ability to edit rich text depending on which template we are using. It would be really useful if we could reference these properties in the template and specify to the builder whether they should be displayed or not.
Line item customizations won't do as this is something that is we need to be able to manipulate during the quote creation flow. They are also out of the way to get to the menus of.
