Currently, after creating a quote, it is a 100% manual process according to Hubspot support.
What I would like is if I could create a workflow to set the proper quote template based on a field value. By allowing this, it would avoid users picking the wrong quote template which has happened quite a lot for my company.
@mbdrag3 Are your templates drastically different? I am thinking through this to find a workaround and one idea is to have only one template. Then based on deal properties you change up the layout or look and feel based off of that. It would require some investment to set it up but I think it could work and make it less error prone.
Yes, the field in question is "Subsidiary" and we have 3 of them. So my thinking is based on Subsidiary A, set quote template to the one corresponding to that Subsidiary. The quote templates are company-specific so we definitely need to have multiple.
@mbdrag3 Here is more detail on what I am proposing.
Create a custom deal property - Subsidiary with the 3 options
When you create a deal select the appropriate subsidiary
Create ONE custom quote template and hide all of the others. The custom quote template will change the logo, colors, datatables, etc. It would look like a different template.
Let's say you did all that and you created a quote. You could recall the quote and go in the deal and change the subsidiary property value. Open the quote and the quote preview will be totally different because the styling is based on the deal property.
I understand that you can do that with fields and use the "Personalize" feature when creating a quote template but what about logo? Looks to me like you can only use a static image or the account default..... unless you can accomplish this using the source code???
@mbdrag3 You could create a deal property group titled "Quote Template Settings". Then, have a choice dropdown to specify what branding you would like to use. Then based on that value, the quote will look for that custom property value and swap out the logo from an array of options. All of this can't be done without a developer resource, but if you have one, you can do a lot of cool customizations like this. Contact me if you would like to discuss this further and I could show you some examples.
I am looking for a quote template as well, but not sure if we mean the same thing. As you said originally, @mbdrag3, all the quotes are made manually. Is there a way to create quote templates??
You don't have a ton of options to customize so if it doesn't fit your needs, you will need to get into the design manager which will require you to have knowledge on their coding language.
