We love the new Quote Approval function, but would like to be able to have more than a single approver. There are several reasons why:
1) If the approver is out for an extended time, it would be important for them to easily be able to delegate approval to someone else in their absence so we don't end up with delays in our sales process.
2) We would like our quotes to go through an engineering review and approval before going to Sales approval, given the complexity of our solutions.
3) There are certain approvals that may need to trigger CEO approval based on whether we are recommending an aggressive pricing approach to compete on an opportunity. We would like that option in our workflows.
Any update here on multiple quote approvers? We're getting to the point where we're going to need to find a different system as it seems like basic functionality that's lacking.
Hi there, we are new to HubSpot and building our workflows and the lack of ability to add multiple reviewers is a huge roadblock for us. We have a variety of products and a need to have different reviewers based on the product as well as the various scenarios within each quote. I cannot have every quote going to my VP of Business Development when he only needs to approve higher discounts or certain product categories but other more simplistic (and more frequent) quotes that need review should come through me. And, as others have mentioned, my VP and I would like to take vacations and need to not have a bottleneck at the approval process. Please consider making this a higher priority. I am disheartened to see the original request was back in 2019 and we have now crossed into 2024 and the feature request has not made more progress through the process.
@ethankopit it's been YEARS since this feature was rolled out, and there are hundreds of people here saying that this is a massive need- like many of the people here, we're on the brink of dropping this in leiu of another tool that can do the job-
- we can't adjust workflows every time there's a scenario prompting a change in the approval needs- that's crazy
- there are countless use cases for why we may need to have more than ONE user around for approving quotes
- there are also numerous if/then scenarios that should be available to determine escalation paths.
I see nonstop product updates for things that seem completely unneccessary, or super specific, while this one is a baseline need for this kind of functionality. Is there ANY movement here at all aside from a comment in Aug of 2022???
For a B2B business, having multiple quote approvals is a pretty basic need. I see that this topic was taken into planning in 2020. But really 3 years in planning? Can you please let us know when this topic will make the raodmap?
Would love to see this! Managing this within Workflows is fine but doesn't solve the problem of only one account having the authority to approve and if that person is out, workflows have to change, etc. It's very rudimentary for a company that has a large sales team all using Hubspot.
1) require approval from multiple groups. Engineering group+ finance finance group. To ensure sure both groups approve off before the client signs a quote.
2) allow anyone in that group to approve the quote for their group.
To ensure quotes can be approved when someone is out of the office.
Yes to both of these things, but if we only get one at a time I choose #2 first.
At the current version, you are only able to designate one quote approver when a quote enters the approval stage.
The request would be to allow multiple Quote Approvers, especially Super Admins. At the current moment, not even super admins can override the assigned quote approver which does not make sense at all.
Allowing for multiple approvers will better streamline the quote approval process because you do not have to rely on one person.
It has been more than 4 years since this idea was submitted but we're still not able to assign more than 1 approver per quote 😞
We have multiple customers who require several layers of approval processes for quotes (e.g. technical team first, then sales manager team; or sales manager first then sales director; or sales manager first then finance manager, etc.).
@ethankopit - it has been three years since this has been noted as "in planning" - any update? The most glaring issue here is that there is no "backup approver," so if someone is out, there isn't much we can do. It seems simple, set a "Backup Approver" for all quotes who has the power to also approve. Can this be done?
I agree. I have to log into the approver's account and approve quotes when he is out. My other approver is an Admin like me, so I cannot log into his account. I have to go in and change the workflow rule to reflect myself as the approver. A lot of wasted steps.
Hoping for a 2024 update on where this is at? The workflow solution that Hubspot suggests to assign different reps with different approvers is not scalable or efficient. Being able to assign only one approver creates major roadblocks if managers are away or overloaded.
We have had to opt to abondon Hubspot's quote approval system and create a less stringent approval task workflow.
Surely the logic applied to this function could be easily changed to allow for more than one approver to act on the review and approval?
Really needeing this feature, this approival function is useless for the majority of my clients. If many quotes get submitted for approval at opnce, having aworkflow swap around the approver is a mess. Its not a workable solution.
Puhh, this is really sad!! 5 years and nothing changed!?
We activated this functionaly and bought the Enterprise License for this too. Now we are not able to work anymore.
We have a lot of Quotes now which should be approved, but the relevant manager is not available. We can not change the "approval person" somewhere, instead of editing th Workflows directly.
This means, our HR must inform the IT Admin now, that the relevant colleague is not available and the IT has to adapt all relevant workflows again and again. BUT our IT Admin has not the right to know who is present at work and who will not, with that we have a security issue now as well.
We have a critical STOP point now in our company. Why? There were a lot of quotes written now which must be approved. But the person isn't available. Checking the "Quotes" menu I've tried to change the approval person for all quote which are pending now. And there IS NO option to do it. @hubspot what is your plan with that here? Shall we delete now all written and pending quotes, change the Workflows and rewrite the quotes all again?? We have a lot more to do that this b****s****
This seems as if this should be a basic function, possibly by way of a task queue so that there can be several employees designated as able to approve a quote. This is especially important when employees are out of the office. We always have to remember to go in and change quote approvers if someone is out sick, on vacation, or otherwise away from the office. This is highly inefficient and leads to bottlenecks in the sales process. It's especially egregious if we have an urgent proposal need, and the singular approver isn't able to be reached or is away from a computer.
