We recently went to a trade show where each attendee badge had a pre-generated QR code with their personal contact information. This information could then be exported as a CSV file for an import to HubSpot. I was wondering if you could develop a tool that could read these QR codes (no matter what service they are generated from) and automatically add them to a pre-made campaign in HubSpot to further automate our marketing needs? I ask because I would like to be able to create emails prior to the show start, add the smart list of contacts to the email to be sent and ultimately send an email at the end of each day thanking them for stopping by our booth.
@roselleebarle - The show that we attend has QR codes on the attendee badges. This QR code holds all of their information provided at registration which goes beyond name, email, company, and phone. They also include products they are interested in, budget, company revenues, staff size, etc. The lead retrieval tool that we lease through the exhibition is able to collect all of this data and export to a CSV. While it works, it is not ideal in streamlining our communication.
I would like to see HubSpot implement a lead retrieval type system that can read the database of the event to retrieve all the pertinent information that is given at the time of registration.
Same situation here. We have to rent a QR code scanner to scan their name badges instead of just being able to scan it from the Hub app and it uploads. Doing double duty is no fun.
Integrating a QR reader into the business card scanner would be HUGE for trade show and event lead capturing!! We are noticing now every show the badges are QR codes now and no one is carrying business cards!
We might test the following for your next trade show, I think this can do the job :
Scan QR codes to Google Sheets (with 'Barcode to Google Sheets' or 'Scan to Google Sheets') and connect your Google Sheet to Hubspot via Zapier (each new row creates or updates contact in Hubspot).
I’m literally at the airport now for the show and had to pay an external vendor to handle this. Wish I would have had this work around earlier! What took so long? When is Hub coming out w their version?
It's crazy to me that Hubspot has not added this feature. Seems very straight forward from a development point of view, just like a lead capture form, but scan QR to complete the form. Please add this feature Hubspot!
Definitely need to integrate QR code/Barcode badge scanning! Many people don't carry business cards anymore. This would make it easy to capture all show connections.
