Please add Date Range Filters to Custom Builder/Cross Object Dashboards

It is really needed for you to add rolling date ranges to Custom Builder and Cross Object dashboard creation. Otherwise, this is not acceptable as a sales/CRM tool to observe patterns and trends. Please add this feature, as soon as possible.

HubSpot Updates
In Beta
December 15, 2022 06:39 AM

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to keep everyone updated.

Yesterday we released a public beta for our new dashboard filters experience that applies filters to single object reports and custom reports via an automated rollout. We have started a small percentage of accounts, we will monitor the usage and any technical issues and start to give access to more accounts. For those of you who get access to the public beta, you will be notified in under product updates on the top right corner in the dropdown under your account name.

Thank you

Hello Everyone!

My name is Shanker Sahai, I am the Product Manager for the Report Management Team here at HubSpot.

Thank you for all your comments regarding filters and we have heard that this is a pain point from you, we are currently working on a solution and will have a beta solution this quarter, with the goal to have it fully released to all customers by the 4th quarter.

We appreciate your patience and please email me with any additional questions.

Thank you
Shanker

Agreed - it doesnt give much perspective to the reporting without the option of a rolling date range

Hi ,

I need this feature for sales team meetings review to see data next week in real time, to eliminate manual date range update.

@ABrass I agree with this but also, wouldn't the "is less/more than X days/weeks" filters accomplish this?

@NatHiggins, what I'm looking for is the ability to create a custom report with the activity date that allows you to adjust by "Next Week", "This Week," "This Quarter,"etc. Unfortunately, the date ranges available for custom reports don't include these functionalities, only the single item report. I created one with these activity date features for "activity" only.

@DTorrance makes total sense. And I agree, definitely a needed feature.

As a possible workaround in the meantime though, when using the new Custom Report builder though, if you add a date property as a filter you can then select to filter by "is less than" or "is more than", input a number, and then select either "days ago" or "days from now". So for example, if you choose the "Ticket Created Date" property to filter with, you can then select "is less than", input 7, and select "days ago" (Ticket Created Date is less than 7 days ago) which gives you all of the tickets created in the last 7 days. I know this isn't "this week" but is very similar. Again, just a workaround for the time being.

@NatHiggins thank you for the suggestion to use the filter. I was able to filter my results as you suggested. As my manager often requests us to view customer orders by date, it would be very nice not to have to re-design my charts (or make new ones) every time this is requested.

@ABrass Glad that work-around worked for you! But agreed, it would be awesome if you didn't have to do this.

I want to echo the need for custom reports to be able to have date ranges on filters that allow for "This Week", "Next Week", etc. relationships like the normal filters. The problem with using "is after" or "is before" is that as the week progresses, we start moving into different weeks or even month boundaries during reporting that are inappropriate for proper report generation (according to any kind of standard reporting guideline, such as GAP or anything we tend to use in business). When we do custom properties for payment tracking or business-specific tracking data (e.g., a specific metric such as invoice amounts for the week), then using "is after" for this causes bleed-over into next week's data, which hasn't been appropriate for our needs.

The only solution we've been able to find in custom reports is to use the "In Between" filter with hard coded dates for start and ending (e.g., 5/31/2021 to 6/4/2021 for "This Week"). This means every week, we need to change all reports that reference these hard-coded date-ranges, which is not only time-intensive but highly likely to result in human error (i.e., wrong dates entered or not changed on certain dashboards, causing confusion and potentially chaos if the report triggers accounting or other departments to respond to problems). We unfortunately have to use custom reports because it's the only way to currently do OR conditions between filters in reporting. Otherwise, some of what we need would be better done in the normal reports (we're just missing the appropriate filtering mechanisms like OR).

I totally concur with you here @JamesEdmondson

It is pretty much a major pain to continually create new dashboards just to change a simple date range.

@JamesEdmondson couldn't have said it better myself. Definitely need this update sooner rather than later. Makes it really hard to use the new report builder.

Also agreeing with this idea and definitely one that needs to be implemented with the new custom report builder.

@JamesEdmondson hits the nail on the head. We need to be able to see what has been achived for this month/week. In our case we use a custom date property that is related to our service and other reporting metrics.

Couldn't agree more. Without this feature, HubSpot reporting is redundant to us; honestly shocked it's not an option.

Absolutely, custom rolling date ranges really needed for our reporting of leads which run from Saturdays to Fridays - currently have to manually update weekly which is a bit of a pain for what is otherwise an automated reporting dashboard.

PLEASE add this. Very surprised this didn't exist in customer report builder since it exsits in the single object report builder. Critical to have.  Most of our data is displayed by current month, last month, this quarter, last quarter, etc.

Agreed, it's complete loss of features for us and compromises the reporting.

It makes reporting complicated and stressful.

Please add them asap 🙏

That would be great if you could look into that : much needed feature indeed for monthly reporting.

Upvoting, the custom report builder was meant to make it easier to report in HubSpot and give more flexibility, but this is a real blocker for campaign reporting

This should not be a request, it should be standard from the begining. Please add this ASAP.

We need this as well, shocked it isn't there.
