Permissions for Product Library

Permissions for the product library are crucial for our business. We don't want various users to be able to see the unit cost and unit prices for all of the products, but there is no way to turn off viewing.

We need to restrict product libraries by teams. Currently, we're only able to restrict product libraries by create and edit. We need an option to restrict the view.

We are also trying to restrict access to a user's ability to see cost and with other objects able to have field restrictions, this should also be available with products

The odd thing is that blocking access to the product library seems to be in the permissions settings...it just doesn't seem to work.

That option seems to only let users access the product library but not secure product library items by teams.

+1. Company wants to bring on partners to sell products but each partner (all want access to HubSpot's sales tools) should not be able to see the other partners pricing and especially not the whole sale pricing that the primary company sells. Please allow specific product library elements to only be viewed and accessed by teams or users that own that product library like we can currently restrict user permissions to only contacts and companies that they own.

Even if the 'Manage product library' access is switched off, the user can still see the product library and pricing. The user just can't create a new product. There should be an option to switch off the access to product library and pricing for specific users / teams.

+10 - Our team is keen to move forward with product forecasting and quoting within HubSpot - however, the current inability to set permissions on the product library (at both a library and folder level) is preventing us from being able to;

  1. add our global price lists into the system (due to some regional price fluctuations)
  2. include our distributors into the CRM to track deals and products

It's strange that we can set deals etc to view as 'owned only' or 'team only', but currently a free-for-all all in the product realm.

LSS - This feature to have permissions on products at the folder level will open up a world of possibilities for us in HubSpot as a global company.

@hubspot, please consider this in the next product update! Or advise on what we can do to navigate. 🙏

Our organization needs the ability to take products out of rotation if they are out of stock.  We work with a large team of remote contractors and not everyone is always privy to changes in inventory.  Having the ability to disable or hide products (or even better, folders) would greatly improve our ability to control which products are entered into quotes.  This would thereby remove the necessity of adjusting quotes and having to rehash deals with clients.  This is an imperative function that needs to be added.  Help me, Hubspot devs, you're my only hope.

We have a number of companies within the group that sell different products in different countries, and it is important their access to the product library is restricted to their products only.

This would be a great improvement.

E.g. limiting access to specific products based on teams or even on product folder level, where folders are assigned to teams, would greatly limit the amount of product variations a user would/should see.

If you are wishing to take on the big boys (eg Salesforce) you need to have control over how can see what.  This feature needs to be added.

You cant even make a product inactive so its no longer selectable

We need this to restrict visability of certain products via teams accross different businesses within a single portal.

We also need to be able to restrict access to products based on either users, teams or folders. We use another system for our warehouse management and this system is our source of truth for the product library in Hubspot. In the other system we never delete a prodcut to keep all related history but we can mark products either as "in-active", which means noone except the warehouse management can see these items, or mark them as "nonsalable", which means products are still visible but can not be added to deals or quotes. Since we sync our entire product library into HubSpot and HubSpot does not provide a similar function, sales reps have to be careful not to add a product which is in one of those categories. Only option we found for now was to add properties (active=true/false and salable=true/false) to the product object and create views that filter the product library based on those but those views are not applied when adding line items to deals or quotes.

This would be very benificial for the business.

I'm totally agree with this issue, because es relevant to the platform allows to restrict visibility of certain products.

That's extremely important for B2B business. We have different products for different prices, and we need to have the view for the products limited by teams. When is that happening @hubspot ?

I know I come in late in the conversation, but the need to remove permission to modify product items would be crucial in maintaining a right product hygiene. Any plans to had permissions on this?

Any updates on this?

We desperatly need the ability to edit the permissions of product properties to hide cost.  Since in HubSpot we cannot hide quotes from specific users, we need at minimum to be able to hide the users ability to see cost.  In all other property groups (contact, deal, companies), we are at least able to create a custom property and then set permissions to non-hubspot created properties, but within product properties, we cannot.  Please allow us to at least create custom properties and have the ability to set permissions of user access for those custom properties within products.

This idea has been submitted for several years now, and we need some sort of update on when this can be made available to HubSpot admins.
