I'm trying out the new multi-step forms. There are several problems: 1) The most disturbing: when you go to the next step, the screen does not return to the top to facilitate filling. 2) We cannot modify the display size of the widget on mobile except error. I would like to reduce the margins on the sides on mobile, but also at the top and bottom 3) another annoying UX problem, the inability to distinguish the customization of the “Previous” and “next” buttons. It's good to give the user the option to go back, but it would have been nice to put it with a different UX. Aesthetically, on mobile it's not very beautiful (the 2 buttons of the same color) and above all you can quickly make a mistake by going a little quickly and clicking on the "previous" 4) it is no longer possible to personalize the style of the labels (for example to make the labels bold) unlike the old form. 5) it is not possible to center the images 6) Finally, I would like to integrate telephone appointment scheduling directly at the end of the form. How come this is not possible. It's really annoying.
It's really surprising that features of the previous Forms have been abandoned and especially that this new Form tool has not been more designed for mobile for release at the end of 2024. Is it possible to make these technical adjustments?
I second your findings and ideas. Some additions: 1) Most disturbing #2: for Multi Step: Required fields are not actually required - you can just click through or submit the form 😉 3) Right now there is only one styling option for buttons. It would be helpful to distinguish between CTA and navigational buttons because at the final page the CTA should stand out instead of the back-button being on par.
Another thing: The options for a progress bar in percentage or number of steps are a great feature. Still it lacks a bit as it only shows the steps completed. But people might get the impression they are done but have not submitted the form.
