Currently, when deals are associated with a contact, the "order" of which the deals are arranged seem to be random. This is confirmed with the community thread here. I feel that we should allow customers to have default ordering of associations, be it by create date or close date.
Even if such an option is not available, it shouldn't be random. I tried within my own portal, close date/ create date/ alphabetical etc, but they don't seem to follow any real pattern.
Hi @SFeast! Apologies for the delay in my reply - I was tracking down the details for this! The product team confirmed that being able to sort by multiple options isn't on this year's roadmap, but they are aware of this request, see value in it, and are keeping an eye on the comments here. If this does become available, we'll share a comment here 😊 Thanks for sharing this detailed feedback!
Hi @DZeko & @SJeremias! You'll be able to sort them by any of the chosen properties that you see on the associated object card. For example, if you Deal Stage and Amount as properties that show on the deal card, you'll be able to sort by those two properties. If you want to sort by create date, you would need to add that as a property that displays on the object card, then you'd be able to sort them by that property:
If you would like to see filtering available on the associated object cards (which I agree would be useful), I would recommend giving this feature request an upvote, because it is asking specifically for that feature! Keeping feedback for filtering within these cards in that post will be best, so we can be sure we track that specific request (since sorting, the original request in this post, has been implemented).
In the meantime, you can click 'view all associated records' at the bottom of an association card to be brought to the CRM index page and filter within the associated objects that way. I realize it adds an extra step, but it is an option should you need a workaround. 🙂
Hello! My name is Hallie, and I'm an Associate Program Manager on our CXM team. I'm happy to share that the ability to sort records within association cards is now available for all Hubs & Tiers! Customers will be able to sort based on any of the properties that appear on the association card. You can read more about this product update here. 😊
I’m a Product Designer here at Hubspot and am in the process of designing a few potential solutions. To help us better understand your needs, we’d love to connect with anyone interested in providing feedback. If you're available, please submit this short form and we will reach back out to you.
It is absolutely necessary to have the options to filter out certain deals. It can be a standard property or customised one but we need to have the option to filter what deals we show on the right handside panel.
This is absolutely critical for all B2B Saas sales team. I need to see the 4-5 important contacts for each company show up at the top when I click on the company. Being able to have contacts with certain association labels show up at the top and be immediately clickup seems like a easy solution. Otherwise I'm forced to work out of a close lost deal when I'm retargeting a company, which can't be the intended use.

This is a useful addition, but I feel there needs to be an additional criteria relating to whether the object is open or closed (e.g. Deals, Tickets).
I want to sort Deals by a date property - e.g. create date or close date - in descending order so the most recent is at the top. However, I also want open deals to appear before closed deals. At the moment, we can't have both of these things.
If I sort deals by Close Date descending, they're in the desirable order but the open deals are on the bottom of the list. The compromise I'm making is to sort by Close Date ascending, which at least puts the open deals at the top.
Examples:
Possible solution: Could we have a toggle for whether the sorting prioritises open over closed?
If I could enable that then I could sort by any date property but still see open deals first.
It's great to see the update, but what about the invoice card? It doesn't seem to have the capability to sort the items, whether by invoice number or due date. It's a bit strange because it's showing me the oldest items first when they should really appear in the opposite order. The newest invoice should be displayed first. Is that possible? How can I do that?

Thank you @hhiggins, good to know it's being considered 🙂
Some of our contacts have a lot of associated deals, so more options for controlling how these are shown to users would be great. With my workaround, users find it beneficial seeing the open deals first - but to find the most recent deal prior to those, they have to scroll down, click 'show more' (small grey button which is easily missed), and scroll again.
