Option to automatically add a product to a deal with workflows
Hi team,
It would be great to be able to automatically add certain Products to Deals within Workflows. For example, if a customer comes in via a certain source and all of the customers from that source are purchasing Product A, all the Deals could then be automatically updated to have that product associated with them.
This would reduce friction for sales teams and allow more seamless Deal creation - the teams wouldn't have to go back and add Products later. Thank you!
I am in need of this solution to automatically populate the line item details from the original deal over to the renewal deal. Right now this is a manual step and I can not even make it a mandatory field before moving to a closed won deal stage.
the year 2024 is about to end and the thread is still not resolved, how to create automatic updates for deals without the ability to edit sales items in the workflow??
Hi, is there an update about this functionality? I would really love to be able to add line items via a workflow. Ideally with the amount of products copied from a property we have now.
for instance, we sell a saas product and I would love to add the licenses to the line items and copie the amount of bought licences from a property we already have. Love to hear from the team.
it's a fantastic idea and aligns with a common need many HubSpot users face. HubSpot’s workflows are powerful, but they’re designed to provide a solid foundation rather than solve every specific use case. That’s where the HubSpot App Marketplace shines (as well as we App Vendors/Providers) — it allows HubSpot to stay simple and intuitive for most users 🧠 while enabling advanced functionality for those who need it.
In fact, the LineNer app was built to address this exact type of challenge! With LineNer, you can:
Automatically add products to deals based on triggers in your workflows (e.g., deal stage changes, deal source, or custom criteria).
Save time by eliminating repetitive manual tasks, ensuring products are consistently and accurately associated with deals.
Enhance sales efficiency by automating deal creation workflows with ease.
If this sounds like what you're looking for, feel free to check out LineNer—it's available for free! We’d also love to hear your feedback or suggestions to make it even better. (features like "removing and or updating line items" - are comming soon)

Hi @JohnMaret Does the LineNer app allow users to add line item amounts with decimal places? We use another 3rd party tool to add line items but although it allows you to enter an amount with decimal places once you save the step and go back onto it, the decimal places are removed and don't actually save.
Currently, the LineNer app allows working with line items in HubSpot as per HubSpot's default behavior. In HubSpot objects, the number field does allow input with decimal places. However, when it comes to workflows, decimal places are not supported.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to modify or delete the existing number field behavior in workflows. A potential workaround could involve adding a text field to accommodate decimals, but this would require parsing the input to handle different decimal separators (e.g., . for some users and , for others). This approach can be complex and prone to errors without proper validation.
Feel free to test drive our app as well—who knows, maybe you'll like it!
@CraigObee and you all (apologies if that sounds too familiar).
Craig, your question and a few more recent requests regarding decimals have triggered myself and the team behind me to shape and refine our knowledge in developing and finding workaround solutions. And here we go — LineNer - Add Line Items now supports decimal numbers, meaning the app allows users to add line item amounts with decimal places via HubSpot workflows.
LineNer supports decimal
The proposed solution is unique across the market, and I truly believe it could be a game-changer for those who operate with decimals.
Please note that the feature is still new, and we are staying close to hear any feedback and polishing requests.
