Please implement this feature!! I'm surprised this isn't already a feature given that the Tasks function is so widely used and that this thread has been open for 6 years.
If a user assigns a task to another user, they should have the option to be notified when the task is completed. Otherwise, it adds unnecessary back-and-forth communication, which in some ways defeats the purpose of having automation.
I would like to add to this. We use tasks as a way to assign customer support/service actions to team members and the customer support team would like to know when/if a task is completed that they assigned out. This would be a great value add.
Agreed with what Lauren has said above. We have a similar use case as what Lauren outlines - it would be great to have an option to be notified via task completion.
Adding a comment as well. Every time i onboard a new employee into Hubspot this topic comes up and literally everyone is dissapointed when i tell them, that they dont automaticly get feedback when tasks are completed by someone else. This is such a standard feature that is extremely usefull.
Not feeling great about this after 7 years not being on current roadmap. Seems like a perfect option to add, or at least allow a workflow based on Tasks to do another way. Looks like will have to write a local job that connects to the API and does it.
It's frustrating when ideas like this would be such an easy thing to do for the HubSpot community! It's already in place for tasks that are created in Campaigns. At the very least, it would be helpful to have an extra property on Tasks that let's you select who the Assigner is; with that in place and that property available in a workflow, it would be an easy workflow to create to send an internal email to the Assigner when the task completes.
This would be vital for us as we are moving away from using Monday.com as our internal PM tool and looking to track tasks throughout the organization.
@achia@sjudson this would be such an improvement to the Tasks feature, especially since people have been asking for it for years. I believe it's already a feature for tasks created in Campaigns, so it's weird that it's not available in for traditional tasks.
At the very least, having a property that tracks who the Assigner/Creator would be a helpful alternative - that way, we can build a simple workflow to send an internal email notification to the Creator when a task is completed.
In addition, please consider allowing for custom properties to be added to Tasks so we can customize them for our organization's specific needs. We are moving away from Monday.com and are trying to solve PM with various HubSpot features and tools.
