Not sending old submition forms to merged contacts
When to contacts are merged in HubSpot they will receive all old email confirmations from forms again. I suggest finding a way to turn off this as it also means sending things like "Thanks for signing up to our newsletter" years after submition. Just because the contact was created twice (once with a faulty email adress) and merged.
I tested this out on myself
We changed brand and I got a new email adress. In HubSpot I was previously created asintitials@brand1.com. To keep all my collected data I now created myself in HubSpot in my new emailinitials@brand2.com.
I merged the two contacts and oninitials@brand2.com I received 10 old email confirmations. These were confirmations from over 4 years ago - before we even knew about Brand2.
I now no longer merge contacts because I am afraid of our costumers being spammed with old useless stuff.
I know I in the above mentioned case could have just edited the email of Contact1 to be the new email. But I am not always as luckt with customers who sign up with strange versions of their email - where I want to keep data of both.
I know I can remove the old form follow ups for events that have been held. But I still want to keep some active (newsletter sign up ans so).
