New Forms Editor: Missing Data in Required Field Should Prevent Moving to Next Step

SGarrett9
I've created a multi-step form with several required fields. When testing the form, I've discovered that I can move on to the next step even if I haven't added a value to a required field. It's not until I get to the very end of the form and try to submit it that it forces me back to add in the values.

It would be great if there was a setting that prevented users from moving to the next step until all required fields have been completed.

+1, don't understand why it isn't like this out of the box!

Same idea here FYI: HubSpot Community - Multi-Step Forms - Required Fields. That one currently has more activity & HubSpot has marked it as In Planning, so would be good to combine our votes

Hi everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to submit, vote, and share your thoughts on this idea.

My name is Jenny, and I'm the new Product Manager for the Forms & CTAs tool.

A similar request was raised in this post: Multi Step Forms - Required Fields

We had started a very small Beta and noticed that forms with validation on each step had significantly lower conversion rates. That wasn't what we expected. As a consequence, we paused the Beta as we're digging into the data and evaluate the best possible solution for you.

I’ll keep this thread updated as we make progress.

Thanks,
Jenny Mueller
