In order to use the meetings tool, you have to use the Google Calendar Integration. Unfortunately, this syncs ALL meetings, including internal meetings that have no reason to be in the CRM and this generates inaccurate reporting.
A couple of ideas to solve:
Add some HubSpot plugin to the calendar booking similar to the log/track settings in Gmail.
Add additional rules in setup to define what meetings are logged
A blocklist similar to what's available for logging emails ("Never Log" list under Sales Settings)
Add some admin tools to turn off certain users from logging/tracking
This would be so helpfull! If it could also be albe to add the meeting type on the calendar meeting that we want to log in hubspot, that woul make this even greather!
This topic has repeatedly come up when working with customers who use HubSpot daily. The ability to choose which meeting to log and/or not to log would be a "must have" for many and, going further, the ability to "never log" meetings with listed contacts and/or email domains (just as is possible with the email logging function) is often requested.
Yes please add my vote. I would very much like to choose which meetings get logged. Currently, we have to delete all these activities that we don't want to be logged. Would be great if we could choose which meetings get logged.
+1 x a million. I'm honestly gobsmacked that admins don't have better options for limiting which meetings are synced, especiallybecause we cannot prevent/turn off users' ability to sync their inboxes/calendars. If you're not going to let us limit the behavior, at least allow us to control the fallout better!
This is a problem that needs to be fixed. If someone wants to put a work meeting (Outlook) on their personal calendar (Google) and they have their google account as never log, the meeting should NOT be synced to HubSpot.
Medical appointments, HR related meetings and other personal time-blocks are accidentally getting logged in HubSpot because our coworkers want to have their time blocked on both their work and personal calendars.
This would be awesome! A lot of our clients use their connected calendar to keep track of personal meetings as well, but they need the integration to keep accurate tabs on their availability for their client meetings, and it skews the reporting!
The calendar sync is one of the more urgent development requirement areas for our customer base, as well --> 1) "Never log" should be applicable for both email & calendar 2) the ability to choose which meetings to log and which not to log
This is a HUGE problem. not just for reporting. It's especially a problem with HR and confidentiality. I am shocked and appalled that this has been an issue for so long and that it continues to go unaddressed!
I’m Melissa, the Product Manager for HubSpot’s Meetings tool.
Currently, the only meetings that will be logged to HubSpot through calendar sync are meetings that have at least one CRM contact as an attendee. At this time, the team does not have plans to provide more options for which meetings do not get logged.
This is not to say that this idea will never be developed, just that there are no plans to do so at this time. I would still love to continue to get feedback in this thread and learn more about your use cases for meetings with contacts that you do not want to be synced to HubSpot. Learning more about these use cases could help with future planning.
