Natively show the first deal "Close" date

At the moment, there is a first deal "creation" date, but not a first deal "close" date. We imported 3 years worth of historical transaction history when we came on board with Hubspot. So for all my historical transactions, the first deal created field is based on when the data was imported, not the actual deal close date. It doesn't seem there is a way to do this through a workflow either.

It's not feasible to go through 1,000s of contacts and set this manually, it should be native functionality.

I totally agree with this idea. Our company is going through exactly the same situation!

Agree with this Idea and hope that HubSpot will understand our needs and add this feature (first deal close date) soon!

Thank you in advance.

I totally agree with this idea. First deal close date and amount should be properties similar to recent deal date and amount. In practice when the first deal is registered as closed, this is when a company is converted from prospect to customer.

I found a solution that worked well. Under company there is a property called "Closed date". It will be automatically set when the first deal is closed won for that company.

I feel like this should already be a native option? I import our orders as deals into a specfic pipeline and wanted to pull a list oF contacts that have ordered from us for the first time in the month of January by using the First Deal Close Date property and i realized it didn't actually exist as a default property in hubspot!

Here is a work around I came up with (although not an ideal solution). I know this doesn’t help you now @LWinkler (2 years after original post), but hopefully it helps some other poor sap who runs into this in the future.

*Also - As noted by @HakonXL, the company property “Close Date” should work fine for most peoples purposes and is a default property. This workaround is only needed in the specific circumstance you need to set the Close date manually.

Background: We had a data mishap where all our close dates for companies were set to 1970 😞 . Like you guys, the only date we had on the company was the “first deal creation date”. Which just says the date we imported our deals.

Workaround: There appears to be no way in HubSpot to do this using workflows. So the easiest thing I found is to export the data out, manipulate in excel, and reimport.

1. Go to your deals and export the Deal Close date and Associated Company. In the CSV export you’ll also get the Associated Company IDs.

2. In Excel

2.1 Sort by Close Date (oldest on top, newest on bottom).

2.2 Remove Duplicates based of Associated Company ID. This should leave you with 1 record per company, and since it works from top to bottom, it should be the first create date

3. Import the list into Hubspot (Company ID & Close Date)

4. Optional - In my case, I have companies that have never closed which have a close date (due to the data error). So I need to clear this information manually. I just filtered all companies in the Company view and manually edited the field to be blank
