What: Add Task-based workflow type that allows you to modify previously created tasks based on information found on an associated contact, deal, or ticket information.
Possible actions:
When a task's associated contact is from the Financial Services industry, change the task priority to High.
When a task's name includes "Some text" AND the associated contact record is unknown, delete the task.
When a task's name includes "Some text" AND the associated contact record's most recenly booked meeting is within the last 30 days, complete the task.
Why: Currently, we can create a task with a workflow, but we can't modify an existing one, or set it as complete. This leads to significant amounts of manual work that ideally would be automated.
Sometimes, after creating a tasks in bulk, you suddenly wish that you had done so a bit differently.
"Oops! I just set a task to revisit the thousands of inactive leads in our database, but forgot to set those within our targed industry as tasks with a "High Priority."
Or you might decide to unqualify and delete leads automatically based on data found on their contact record, but then get frustrated that the task remains depsite the fact that the contact record is now gone.
Just like we can automate the creation of at ask, we should be able to use automation to refine, complete or delete tasks based on similiar logic.
This would be really useful - I have a scenario now where I want to auto-complete tasks in a certain queue after a week, but I have no way of doing this apart from remembering to go in manually and do it once a week which is not ideal. I can automate so much in HubSpot, it seems silly I can't automate this!
I've created an app that suits at least some of the use cases you've described, called Utilities for HubSpot.
As per the app's Usage Guide, installing the app makes available a number of custom workflow actions within your HubSpot portal, including "Delete Associated Tasks" and "Mark All Tasks as Complete".
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
All the best,
Zach

Tasks are a mess in Hubspot. Bulk edition of tasks associated to objects from deal or company views would be good enough. But the task view does not even enable us to filter based on association. would be great to:
- Bulk edit all tasks associated with a contact, company or deal and be able to edit priority, queues, owner etc
- Edit tasks in workflows
- Add task creation in pipeline automations
- Set due dates on tasks created in Sequences
Pipedrive projects could be a good inspiration for the product team. They are not perfect but they are very useable compared to tasks in Hubspot.
YES, need to manage tasks by pipeline or even import to update tasks is not available (after export to csv / rename task name with a unique code then import to update task names by matching unique task ID)
I get spammed by a lot of task related emails. I want to build a workflow to only get emails for high priority tickets. That is currently not possible.
