It would be great to be able to minimise or hide the sidebar in Outlook for Desktop on an ad-hoc basis. Currently, the only way to hide it is to also disable GDPR settings centrally. This would be especially helpful as many users on dual-screen set ups experience very wide sidebars that take up a lot of screen real estate. Thank you
I am very new to Hubspot but if I'm not mistaken, the solution provided "If you go to settings under Hubspot Sales, you can uncheck the box "Show Contact Profiles" under "Sidebar". " only applies to Outlook Desktop, and not 365. If there is a way to access this setting in Outlook 365, I would so love to know about it.
Defintely agree - this add-in sidebar takes up way too much real-estate on the screen when the real estate is needed for other things. If it has to stay open that is fine, but it definitely needs to be able to be minimized.
Hi there! I regularly have customers asking for this feature to be able to have some flexibility about how much screenspace it takes up and I would like to add my comment to this! Looking forward to seeing some progress!
At the very least we should be able to disable this "feature" for internal emails. I find it super annoying when I try dash off a short email to an internal co-worker and this big sidebar loads and slows down my flow...
Please make this configurable! It's 100% wasted space for me. It even appears in other mailboxes that have no HubSpot integration.
The answer above, suggesting to uncheck the box "Show Contact Profiles", cannot be unlocked if GDPR applies. And I understand why it might be necessary to show the sidebar *if* GDPR applies *and* you have elected to track *and* there is a lack of a justification specified for that recipient. But if you default to not tracking, there's obviously no GDPR issue and the side bar can be left hidden.
Adding my support to this as advised by HubSpot Support. This functionality was present in the Desktop Add-in, now support for this has ended we have to use O365 add-in moving forward and users are frustrated by having to have this pane open at all times if they want to log emails, very disappointing that functionality has been lost due to moving to the supported solution.
Please note, Office 365 was rebranded to Microsoft 365 in 2020, all the documentation still references O365.
Yes, also getting a lot of frustration from our teams on this. If you dont have the sidebar open, you don't know if Hubspot has automatically logged out or not. Therefore, a lot of missed emails being tracked.
It is like HubSpot Product Management has been taken over by the Marketing Department. They must measure performance by eyeball views so they make the product as intrusive as possible.
Spent some time with Visual Studio and ChatGPT, ended up creating a program that runs in the system tray that will close the pane as soon as you open a new email while keeping the plugin logged on. You can right click and start/stop the program from running and also a settings area that you can adjust the interval in seconds. Along with the option to show a notification and or sound when it closes the pane. Currently running on Windows 11 while using Office Professional Plus 2019. So far it's working pretty well.
